Almost arrested growing! 3 Cop cars surrounded me!

We were finishing up when my friend got a call from someone saying his car is surrounded by 3 cops who ran his license plate and we're waiting. Now, the car was in a concealed little nook off the side of a side road...somewhere no one would go. How a cop saw the car is still a mystery.

As we walked back (slightly panicking), we devised up a story about how we were looking for something we had lost earlier that day while hiking. We walked up to the car and immediately saw 3 cop cars. They shined their lights on us and took our IDs. Keeping our cool we told them our story. After they found out I work at my school's garden a lady cop asked us if I grow "special" plants. I looked at her in the eye and said: "No ma'am" and they let us on our way.

After we pulled out and drove off, nearly arrested, i told my friend to let me out of the car to see how long the cops hang around. I sit down in a concealed area and see them leave after about 8-10 minutes. This confirmed that they had not found the plot. Their cars were parked about 150 yards from it, so the chances of them having found it are very low.

After I was picked up my grow buddy and I spent about 3 hours debating wether we should continue or not. Its hard to decide considering it was such a close call. We have to frequent the site about once every 2 weeks this summer...a huge risk is at hand.

Now here is where it gets interesting. At this spot, there are 2 plants in the ground and 9 in pots. We are planning on moving all of the plants and 2 water tanks in a few nights. Very risky, basically an all or nothing night.

I know the initial thoughts of everyone are going to be "DONT EVER GO BACK". My partner and I understand this logic and we know it is the right thing to do. BUT, we have thought long and hard and calculated that based on the events of that night, the police did not search the area and they are not setting up a trap (too much time/money for the amount of plants). Plus, if they had found the plants, they would show up at our doors.

i always had trash bags with me and would pick up trash along the way to my site.it always gave me a reason to be out along back roads.where iam at trash is EVERYWHERE and nobody picks it up.when the rangers would see us they new what we doing (there job)cleaning up the forest,they thanked us for doing it & we grew for YEARS with out probs& thats why.one year they got a cage we bult but oh well...fucks lifted it out with chopper lol.anyways everyone loves it when the tarsh gets picked up and we never looked shady.shit we would stop and talk to the man or the rangers and they would take the bags off trash we had picked.

just my input..i would go back and try not to look so shady geezzz....jk

I think it would also be a good idea to bring some binoculars, bird books, anything for a disguise.

if u go back, do it with your grow buddy, come up with a plan, wear shoes u can trash and be masked up.... Id be prepared to run if something bad does happen and wouldnt offer the police any sort of information or story if i got caught up..... they would have to have enough evidence to charge you and even more evidence for a conviction----I would guess with the info u gave that u would be Ok, just be very cautious

add to that :being woefully out of shape!!!!! I could dance circles around them and climb the mountain like an elk carrying a caged 7 gal. bucket... -FAST!

the old codgers are paranoid that thieves and mexican drug gangs like on t.v. are gonna' git 'em...they're not as young an confident as they once were, out in b.f.e.their only defense being their dogs and guns...lots of time on their hands to "look out for the neighbors", cause thieves are trolling their road waiting to strike!!!! ....so- any car that don't belong on 'their' road, especially more than once, and they're callin' the neighbors and the cops....aerial surveillance starts wth grid photography by light grey cessna...then analasys, THEN helo's- fuel costs money! sheriffs' dept.'s operate on money! where's your state and local budget this year? the aerial action happens more toward harvest time- for the most part.....I know people in my county growing 500 sq.' for years! and they haven't had so much as a visit from the tape measure patrol.

Thats good to hear. Do you think it is safe for me to go back and water every 2-3 weeks at 2 am? If I ride my bike in and don't park a car there it seems that theres a small chance they can catch me. Of course, they can always set up those game cameras. I think I am going to buy one this summer when I make enough money from my job. After that, I will be able to tell if anyone is peeking on my spot.

Also, I thought of a way of a "silent" indicator that there are people visiting. I was thinking of rigging up a piece of fishing line about 4 feet tall and stringing it across the walkway, not tied to anything. That way, if someone walks past, the string is no longer crossing the path, and has been moved. No one can feel if its been moved except I will be able to see it.

Its hard to explain without a picture but it seems like a good way to check.

Damn that does suck..I would go back..Move them in one night..with in the week. Just be smart..Park your car father away..fuck it if you have to walk a decent walk. Better then being 150 yards away with your car, just gives them an idea where you grow. Also a cop might have just rolled by and saw your car in a secluded area and had to check it out..Also if a cop sees a car like that in wooded area you better believe hes calling for back up lol. I live in the city and like 2 more cop cars always come just for a simple pull over. Good luck but I think you have the chance to do this and get away with your bud.

LOL, s.c.m.h. ain't that the truth? Most of the dough bellies around here won't even get out of their car and walk into the woods. I could be a mile or more in the thickest shit they'd never step foot in before their backup even got there. +rep

Orange shovel, I don't think the fishing line would tell you much could be a deer or a bird. If you get a game cam go with an infrared flash one or they'll see it go off and probably steal it. Damn is that what you left behind???? You should probably get rid of that chicken wire now that they're that big. It attracks attention and won't keep out deer anyway. They can easily hop over that. damn thats a bit like what happened to me... public workers usually clean this stream up(on the bank of which im growing)... just cut the grass on its banks and stuff. they came around last week, cut the grass, but left the plants. oh and cut all the grass around them >.> I was afraid to go back for a while, but then just did it. seems like they either a) dont give a shit, or b) know what it is and when its grow and when to harvest it >.> ...or the most realistic C) didint even notice them - even though they would literaly have to stand on the plants to cut the grass on the river bank... although one of the plants WAS trampled on and survived.

I really dont know what to think.

lol thats fucking weird. youd think if someone saw it they'd either kill it or take it with them. or maybe their waiting till harvest to steal it. either way ide move it, they might tell a friend whos a pothead.

I cant imagine how the cops would eever find out about less then 10 plants. No one would ever tell them, of 100% of the pop, 25 has never smoked or encountered it, another 25 have never seen it growing, of the otehr 50, 25 woudl take it and keep it, 20 would leave it, and 5 would destroy it.

just fimdn a better place to park.

dude take your chance park the car in a different location go into your site a different way. move your shit. i dont blame you for wanting to keep it. i woulda moved it already. take a lot of precautions. a failed plan is one not properly executed. that means go out there with a plan and stick to it. and me not thinking if i see someone walk out the woods i would think they are growing first thought. so thats natural to think that. i think if they found the plants you would be in jail. they just spotted the car and checked on it. good things they didnt come in the woods lookin for ya

it looks like you're doing way better this year than last "ShovelMan", as far as growing goes! But I think you still fall way short on the planning part, 2 plants,...are you kidding!?!?

Without truly seeing the surrounding area, I think you're screwed! But that's just my opinion from what you posted. "Shovel", are you a extremely fat dude? I mean who the fuck in their right mind would plant their cannabis plants 150 yards away from where cars park??? That's just fucking crazy man!!!! Any number of assholes have seen your stash, even the outta shape fat fuck who walks his pooodle nightly has more than likely stumbled on it!! I imagine someone found it and dropped a dime on you!!! Cops come back right before harvest time to fuck you up in more ways than one!!!

I'd seriously consider donating that pants to the 'Gods of Canna'. It sure beats donating that ass to 'Big Mo Fo', your new cellmate!!! Seriously 'Shovel', never mind your ego, I'd move on and count your blessings.
