Almost ready?

I think we had a a bit of a frost last night in central massachusetts so I'm wondering if my plant is ready to harvest...don't wanna chop her too early but also don't want her to freeze.

Your hairs look fairly brown- pretty close. Wouldn't be bad at this point IMO. Best way to check is with a scope. If you see an amber haze about the plant, it's done. If your area is starting to frost up, I'd say cut soon though.

If about 85 procent of all your hairs are brown the plant is ready to harvest. But in case of frost i would shop it down bevore you get much mold in your weed.

checking the trichomes is the best way to know what stage your plant is at,my biggest concern when I used to grow outside was bud mold.with the damp mornings and short days it doesnt take long for mold to ruin your buds,its been damp and cold where im at and im south of you we had frost on tuesday and rain today and I would be worried if I had any growing out side,if your plant was in a pot you could bring it in at night or if you could try to cover it to keep it from getting the morning dew on it,it looks like its close. good luck and watch out for the mold

I got one of the mini magnifier/microscopes from radioshack today. I am going to bring it when i go check on my plants tomorrow. Do i just hold it up to the buds to examine the trichs or will I need to clip some off?

i got the 60-100 x microscopes from radio shack and you can see the trichs but its a little trichy! i think it might be a little too strong

I got the 60-100 x microscopes from radio shack also. It helps if you put it on the least magnification and just move the entire scope up and down instead of using the focusing knob. Sometimes its just easier to cut a leaf with alot of trics, and lay it on the table to look at it. The plant wont stay still long enough to focus on with that magnification.
