Alternating nodes

When nodes start alternating the plant should be showing sex soon right?

It’s one end of a manifold so I’m reeeally hoping it’s female.

This is the first alternating nodes so far unless it’s from topping it really early.

Exactly six weeks today.

I can’t tell if it’s starting to show on the lower node or if that’s just a real small one of those little green pointy things each node has a pair of.

I don't see any signs of sex yet.
Do you have any other pictures of some different nodes?
Being at week 6, if you can't tell yet, it won't be long until you can.

Sending some good energy your way, hopefully, she's a she.
I've also got 3 plants started from some regular seeds (Freebies, I only buy fems) going on week 3-4. Hoping for all girls of course (Probably don't hear that out of a man's mouth often, outside of the growing world anyway lol).

Just to add for ur knowledge a.k.a. alternating nodes just means it's a sexually mature plant, like a teen in puberty...it doesn't mean it should start flowering...unless it's an autoflower...a photoperiod plant will also start alternating nodes but wont start flowering on its own...just want you to know the difference

I appreciate it man, I know about switching to 12/12 but I’ve never seen preflowers before. Or paid attention I should say.

Anyways, hell yeah!!

I wasn’t sure if that was a preflower or not, didn’t want to get too excited lol.

The cutting from that one just popped roots too. Now I can get started on my fem seeds :bigjoint:

Are the preflowers always that small or did I happen to catch it right when it formed?

I didn’t even notice it until I was making the original post about alternating nodes and saw the pic blown up.

It’s so tiny I can barely see it still, gonna have to get the digital scope out to check the others lol.

I’ve also seen a couple things about preflowers that im not sure are true?

First that males usually show much earlier, and second that if the stipules are crossing each other it’s most likely going to be female.

Any of that sound right?

Males tend to be crazy fast...much faster than females...you'll know very quickly if you got a male once a plant sexes out as a male

I’m inspecting some of the other ones, another is almost sure female.

Then there’s this. Is this anything identifiable??

This one is about 26 days and my only coir plant which is also my biggest.

Congrats, it's a girl! Note the 2 little white points coming from the preflower.
I fail find solace in this post. TOO SOON to tell.
And I'd have concerns over the elongation of implied calaxe. Inter nodal is a plant reaching maturity. Not sexual maturity. Need a light change to induce sexuality. Just my thoughts.

Re post in a week. Pre flowers will show before actual sexual adventures.

I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on them over the next week.

Just want to make sure I toss any males ASAP before I switch to flower.

The others telling you for sure if they are female/male are definitely jumping the gun. Some plant won't show sex until you flip them.

Don't worry about males. You'll be able to tell 100% long before they can possibly cause any issues.
