Alternative sites to Rollitup.org?

I've been growing for about 15 years now, and have been coming to Rollitup for many years as well. While I have managed to learn some great things here; it always entails far too much sifting, and FAR too much fact checking. There is unfortunately a HUGE amount of misinformation on this site when it comes to growing marijuana specifically. And for whatever reason those that seem to dominate the forums and have made names for themselves are the very ones pumping out the incorrect information.

When I saw someone swear by, and continue to stand by the ludicrous idea that a C3 marijuana plant grows better with a dark period so it can "rest" for instance.... well I definitely had a good giggle!

So I'm hoping to get some good suggestions for some alternative sites similar to Rollitup in nature, but perhaps populated by a few more educated growers who are 'with the times' as it were. Where actual science and botany are the driving factors on the forums; not stories, or feelings, or horribly executed personal experiments where the word 'control' doesn't even enter into things...

....and perhaps with a bit less childish "I wanna be right and Mr. Badass grower #1" back and forth bickering? That one might be asking a bit much... ha

Don't get me wrong: there are definitely some great people here from what I've seen, and I will most assuredly continue to enjoy this site for what it is and has to offer. But when it comes to actual study, research and sharing with a community these things I just can't help but think there just may be a better site hiding out there somewhere!

Well since you joined in 2012 and you've "learned so much" here during your time here, why only 1 post. ? This site is only as good as the input it gets. If you feel strongly that there is all this misinformation being presented, then be a good member and state your thoughts and correct the record. It takes input.
This site isn't perfect be any means. For instance you can go over to GrassCity where they are far less tolerant of the same subjects and questions ( should I flush my plants? ) being asked all the time, but Google being what it is, you can easily find other forums.

Bottom line is any site is only as good as the input of info fed into it. It is our job ( mine and yours) to sift through the info to get to the solid answers. Theres some people around here who really know their shit.
It has been here and the aforementioned site that I learned how to grow decently enough to supply myself, not by reading "Grow Bibles" and such. So it DOES work.

Try Open Grow perhaps the most professional board there is, also friendly and no hype.

It's gonna be the same on any internet forum. There are no qualifications to join one nor do they require any certain expertise levels to post advise. You are gonna have to swim thru a pool of shit on any forum to find the pearl.
There are some damn smart people and some serious research is going on over at ICMag: https://www.icmag.com/ic/forumdisplay.php?f=65708 but anything I glean from that site I bring back here and discuss it among the friends I've made here. As for the other sites recommended, been there, and didn't find anything substantially better, some even worse.
I got fed up with the shit that goes on as well, and ventured off for newer horizons. I finally figured out (all by myself!) that as bad as things can digress here, there are some really fine growers and really fine people here as well. Home is where you hang your hat, and mine is here.

If you're really dedicated and serious about this hobby/business, you very quickly learn who the reputable people are around here.

Also, just because someone's opinion differs from yours doesn't mean you need to be offended or upset; that's life, it happens.

As far as other sites, I'm really unaware other than quick Google searches; I'm an RIU-only lifer

Welcome to the internet. Its full of a bunch of "internet tough guys". In all seriousness, what you are asking for would be very nice, but I just don't see it being that easy.

One of the reasons the search function often offers very little help, is BC there are so many questions that get asked over and over and over again. It just seems like for every really smart, experienced grower there are about 10 people who have no idea what in the fuck they're doing-- but that's to be expected from any site where people go to learn. You can hope for nothing but good info, but bad info is like a plague. When people get bad info, they have no idea that its no good, so they pass it on to the next unsuspecting victim.

Good luck finding an easier way to get good information out of people. But if I were you--just to be on the safe side, no matter what site I went to-- I would still check out peoples sources on their facts if its something important. There's really no replacement for hard work when it comes to research. Sure, its easier when someone before you has done the work, but don't count on good info being easy info. Not here, or anywhere else.

last year I Google "trichromes" and found RIU plus several other sites.....IMHO this one the most respectful of the bunch...perfect it is not but way better than grasscity

I also find it strange that your first post in over a year is only to slander our site and members....then to toss in your opinion about C3 with zero support of your belief tells me you are not interested in helping our community but rather just looking to create a pissing match
