Am I about to fight root rot again?

Very nice looking crop you have there @Failmore!

Just dropped ppm again to 250 - I also used a little pump to flush through the hydroton with the res water so the ppm is consistent throughout the tank and media. It also means I've given everything another thorough coating of h202 so have done all I can to recover things.

I'm observing this grow closely, so would rather look out for deficiencies and correct where necessary, and keep a daily diary so I have a better idea of the NPK requirements of this strain (I intend to stick with one strain until I've mastered it)... Will stick to GH trio only for the rest of this grow, if the roots recover. Nothing more is getting topped, fimmed... just a little light bending with ties here and there if the canopy starts getting uneven.

I hope to be able to give a positive update tomorrow :) thanks again guys - will stick to the basics so I have a baseline to compare the next grow to.

Hi chaps...

Happy to report that things have stabilised nicely today. The new leaves have burnt tips, demonstrating clearly that there were too many nutes when first topping to 3rd node, and that 400ppm was still too much thereafter.

PPM has increased in the res by 25 since yesterday so there's definitely a rebalancing going on, but everything is looking perky (apart from the burnt tips), all new growth is the right shade of green, and most importantly, the only part of the roots now tinged are beneath the waterline.

Thank you - you've saved my grow!

@rkymtnman - no ice blocks today. Res seems to have stabilised to 20.6c, which I think should be okay running sterile? Please let me know if it's a bit high.

Thank you both again!

if your ppm keeps rising, add more RO to get it even lower.

i think your res temp should be fine: i'd run that silver bullets at max or close to max for the rest of the grow. better safe than sorry.

My res temp is always equal to the air temp. Cause I pump air into it. So they end up being about the same. So water is 72-74 f. So yeah 20c is perfectly fine for a sterile grow.

Hi @Failmore @rkymtnman ... usually when people ask advice round here there's rarely a follow-up with a progress update and a thanks... so... here we are, 6 days later. Res change day tomorrow. The plant did nothing for 3 days then started to live life properly again.

I stupidly snapped a node doing new tie-downs today, but I've put it in a rockwool with some rooting hormone, so will see what happens. But as you can see, she's now happy (ish). It's weird how some growth is luscious and green but one node is still putting out small limey leaves - shoots the myth of 'even growth when manifolding' in the foot, but you live, you learn.

Nute levels dropped a few days ago so added an extra 50ppm GH series. Dropped again yesterday so upped another 50ppm. So, currently sat at 370ppm and seems to be very happy.

Anyway, thought you'd like to see the difference your advice made, so thanks again! May well get a half decent harvest out of this one.

Cheers!
