Am i f@#ked?

So yesterday i go to check on my babies and my light was off! I dont know what happened but this timer i just bought is wierd. the manual override is f'd up or something... But anyway, if my plants were under 24 hours of light then the light was off for a few hours will this screw my girls up?

if u have them under 24/0 light cycle why do u have a timer for???

lol, timer while on 24? lmfao here,. u will be fine u can even go 18/6 if u want on a daily basis. but dont let this happen while in 12/12

yeah i suggest just leaving the timer out of the picture until youre in a light cycle with some actual darkness.

no your plants will be fine. it will stress them out a little bit if they are used to 24/0 but it isnt a big deal at all. just try to keep the light cycle consistent, you know?

also i suggest using at least 4 hours per day in darkness. im not saying i have experience with 24/0 and have proved to myself its not the best way to go..but i really feel like plants need darkness each day just like all living creatures do

Keep your timer, get a contactor. I posted this in another thread earlier today, I keep reading about 'failed' timers And I'd give them some dark period, natures way etc.

Very often cheap timer failure can be prevented by using a contactor, so many of those timers fail to switch grow lights. For reliabilty and peace of mind, use a contactor

I vegged my plants from seed on 24 hours of light under CFL's then once my 400MH came in i transfered everything to the new grow box. I didnt have a timer so i went out and bought one earlier this week. I set it to be on at 6pm and off at 12pm. The manual overide is confusing the hell out of me. It has two "turns". one is the white side which is on, and the other is gray (off). Thing is the timer isnt working now that i fooled around with it trying to find out what the hell the switch did.

I figured the "dark period" wouldnt hurt the plants since they are in veg, i just wanted to make sure.

So I happen to turn my light off every now and then, and come back to like 1" of growth... it's pretty cool.. I guess I don't know if that's bad? I'm baked.. I think giving my plant rest is good... every 3 days give it a 3-4 hour nap.... I don't think I'll be putting it on a nap anytime soon though...

I'm worried about growing here, but I should be moving soon and it's 2 lights basically and a leaf... lol

Could it be that you only have it on for 6 hours? From 6pm to 12pm is only 6 hours, ON. From 6pm to 12AM is 18 hours.

in hollland they did an experiment with 36/6 yes you heard me 36/6 and it took 1 month less to get a huge fucking crop dont ask me about it i heard it off a freidn who is really into reading up about this kinda shit
