What I do for the last week before chopping is water only.
I scope the trics and when damn near all of the clear trics have turned cloudy is when I go water only.
I guess what I'm trying to do is to allow some senescence(fade) to happen.
Although I turn most of my crop into oil, it does seem to make for a smoother smoke.
