spip last watering to harvest the buds dry

add if you feel they arent complete
and give me a general review if its good to go by

1.. you can germinate the seeds in rockwool or directly in soil.. paper towel method is also OK... warm and moist are the most important factors

2. mix 20% perite with your potting soil.. this prevents over watering

3. only water when water is needed.. when you do water, give your plants a thorough watering (this in NOT applicable to seeds or seedlings) you may only need to water every 3-10 days.. depending on pot size and plant size..

Seedlings need regular water every couple days to keep young roots moist...BUT NOT SOGGY.. after a 10-20 days your roots in a 3 gallon pot should be well developed enough to not need watering more than once every 3-10 days.. thorugh waterings with this frequency prevent roots from getting root bound..

yu need to get a $5.00 PH tester and make sure you give your plants PH 6.8 water.. this is the most important aspect of growing!!!!!

4. there should not be a need to spray your leaves

5. use CFL lighting for your plants.. keep the CFL lights as close as possible without touching your plants.. keep CFL lights 2 inches from foilage for the first 10 days and less than one inch after that..

6.. you should only need to grow our plants for 20-25 days of 18+ hours of light.... then you will switch your lighting to 12 hours light and 12 hours of uninterupted darkness.. 49-80 days later you should have BUDS!!

Would it be bad to use miracle grow moisture control potting soil throughout the entire grow? im mostly dealing with autoflowering strains but I do have a White Dominia And a Green Poison seeds I would like to try out

dude ur guide is a piece of shit. RIU should ban you for posting this.

I can go into a giant list of everything your wrong about but no time. Ill just list a couple quotes which clearly shows your knowledge....

The only 2 lights I would recommend using are either 4-6 100+ watt daylight type CFL's (actual rating is like 26w or 32w I think) or spend some cash on a 250w-400w HPS for about $100.

When they are little you'll only need to water them like every 3-4 days for the first month or so. Stick your finger in the soil, if it's bone dry two fingers deep, water.

You won't need to spray the leaves.

Veg them on a 18on/6off light schedule until they are 1/3rd to 1/2 the size that you want them to ultimately be. Then switch your lighting to 12/12 for the flowering phase until they are done. Total time will be a minimum of 3 months up to 6 depending on the size, strain, etc.

Don't use aluminum foil on the walls, plain flat white paint is far more reflective. Ideally if you can get mylar or panda film, that is best. You could even just get cheap survival blankets, they reflect better than foil too.

Definitely do get a PH meter or tester for the water and soil if you can. Here's a helpful chart I found here on RIU on PH levels and why they important.

nothing he posted was a question "my first plant growing instructions" (in his first post)

Growing instructions....not questions. and hes off about everything, watering frequency, nothing about pH, nothing about medium, nothing about nutrients, nothing but bs on lighting "use a halogen". If he posted "Im a first time grower needing help with....*starts listing) i wudnt be a douche. im just pissed that he would put "growing instructions" when everything posted will get people into problems, therefore hes creating problems for anyone that follows his advice.


when you call something a guide, its meant to guide people, so me stating this his information is bullshit will help everyone that was going to even consider following any of this.

The only douche move would be supporting this guide.

as for better alternatives I can post hundreds, as i stated im not going into this as respected RIU members have already posted AMAZING guides in full detail. why wud i waste my time??

as for better alternatives, inseatd o watering every 2 days, you water when the top 2-4" of soil is bone dry. then you water until you see runoff, and repeat once it dries. this is can anywhere from 1day-1week. dont go watering by days, go by your moisture level.

second a halogen is worthless at growing, CFL's would be a much better alternative.

His post does say that it is his first grow. I would say that his "instructions" were something that he was instruced to do I dont think he was trying to tell anybody how to do anything, I believe he was telling us what he knows so far and wanted to see how other people could HELP him with how he was taught.

yeh i might have read it kind of wrong, to me it jumped out as a guide. I guess i might have been a bit hard, sorry bro, not tryin to troll. I just wanted to bring attention to the flaws of the guide, but i re-read it now and see its a question just written in a weird way.

If you are going to do your first crop with CFL's then use DAYLIGHT CFL's for Veg and Soft White for Flowering. Here is what I have used for flowering a few times and they worked GREAT!!!! It is a soft white bulb that uses 68 watts and equal to 300 watts. I also get a 10" reflector and clamp to go with them. the 8.5 reflectors will not work with out some modification.

But if you can get a MH for veging and a HPS for flowering, even better. But I put out some fat sweet hard buds from 2 plants and three of those Big Soft white CFL's.I got 3.5 ounces.
