Am I wasting my time at this point ???

I have been asking this a few times & really need to know if I will b wasting my time or not. Last week our apartment complex was raided, & not wanting to get busted with all the others I threw my plants out the back window so my son could get them out & away. They were autos about 2 to 3 weeks away from harvest, & not really showing crystals yet just some dust. Now the big question, I have been wanting to make some butter for awhile now. So will it b a waste of my time to make butter from the buds, & do the buds have to b dry to do so, & just how fine do they need to b ??? Just how much will it smell making butter, & also ISO hash ??? I know it wont b worth a shit to smoke so am hoping I can salvage the loss by making butter & then trying the ISO hash. Thanks for ur help & advice.

the early harvested butter or iso will still get you stoned. iso hash makes no additional smell aside from the smell of the herbs already. cooking butter does give off a smell but its more of a green smell not really strong skunky like buds.

Thanks for the reply Galvatron, but will it b a waste of time trying to do the butter with immature buds, none of the videos Iv seen say how fine they have to b, or if I can use semi dry buds

I think it is way better to dry it out first. And making butter can make a helluva smell, I made a batch a little while ago and you could smell it almost all the way to the street. I didn't try to hide the smell though, so it may have been that.

edit: oh and the smell went away pretty quickly. There was no hint of smell by morning.

You should be fine making butter. The quality will still be good but the yield will be less than if the buds were fully mature. Definitely cure first, I do believe.

u can make butter from leafs , stems and make killer brownies. so any part of the plant will give up some good stuff, not all is good to smoke but a vape or cannabutter will buzz ur ass!!

Ok an update. I fainally chopped up all those beautiful buds, all 2 1/2 oz's of them, No stems just nice buds. I made the butter I had been dying to do for ever. I made some sugar cookies out of it all, all 2 sticks of butter. A friend & I ate a good amount of them, but only ate 1 cookie as I was told that would deffinatly knock me into the dirt. Well, 4 1/2 hrs. later Im still waiting for something besides a crappy tasting cookie. So Im convinced if its not ready, its not ready for anything. But it was worth a try to salvage it, & I now know Its not ready til its ready. So all u who r getting good butter from leaves & stems I need to know ur secret or what ever because my buds were big & beautiful, just no crystals.

....I have never eaten a successful edible....they dont do it for me....I ate some n fell asleep once...but never felt "high"...waste of time imo

....???...idk...ive made those "firecrackers" personally using 2 grams of dank per cracker...trying to make sure I did it right....followed instructions and even used fatty pb and butter....nothing...fell asleep....idk I think my perception of being "high" differs from most...ima give it another shot next harvest

A-fuckin-men! Edibles will totally trash your ass. Great--perfect, really, for patients with pain or insomnia problems who either don't like to or can't smoke.

Other than the first few times I got high, edibles probably have fucked me up more than anything, other than dabs maybe. Still, totally different buzzes IMO

Back in the 60' s & 70's we would drop a 3 or 4 finger lid in brownie mix but don't remember if it ever did much. So I guess Im just going to have to visit a legal state & cop some edibles from the experts because unready bud or not I just cant cut up good looking bud like that ever again, especially when nothing good happens..

I hear that.. I use to take and make just canna butter to mix in as a substitute for the butter, and a normal size brownie box would mess 3 to 4 plp up for hours on end! I don't like mixing in the actual bud bc of it getting in my teeth! Lol
