Hello RIU!

Currently I have a 4x4 Setup that I would like to leave as a flowering tent and now I would like to purchase a smaller veg tent. All the items are Prime on Amazon which is pretty cool to be able to have free 2 day shipping of a "whole grow tent".

For 6 vegging ladies what would you change from this setup? Tent size enough? 400w Too much? Anybody ever use the Hydrofarm inline fan? I have noise issues "have to be pretty silent"

I already have a 400wMH bulb

The total would be $422.73

Thank you!

I havnt ever used that fan so I cant help you there, but everything else looks great. I veg in the same size tent almost (4x2x5) and can get six in it nicely.

I personaly prefer t5 for veg, so thats all I would change in your setup. You could get a sunblaze 4ft 4bulb for $150 and be set. Gives great coverage in that tent. Thats just personal opinion the 400w mh will be great too. But with only 4ft of vertical hieght t5 will let you use the most of it. My plants get within a inch of my bulbs without stressing or burning them.

Edit: a 4" inline would be more then enough for that tent if you wanted to save a few bucks. My 4" sucks the walls in on my veg tent like a vacum. I need to grab a speed controler for it. If you wanted the extra foot of hieght virtualsunhydroponics.com has the 4x2x5 tents for $110 free shipping. There nice low price tents.

Thanks mnmobbin!

I'm going to check out virtualsunhydroponics.com wasn't aware of the FREE shipping ;). Using a T5 instead of a 400W MH is there going to be more space between nodes? I was afraid of overheating with a 400w in such a small space but I didn't even think about vertical space problem!

I currently have a 4" inline fan that I could swap into a smaller tent, but using a T5 how much extraction/intake do you really need?

Do you have any pic's of your tent? I would love to see your setup

Thanks again!

My phone wont let me upload pics its a pos. the t5 with the 6500k bulbs (sunblaze fuxture comes with these bulbs) keeps the nodes really tight. Alot of people use them for veg. Mine only uses 216w so it would cost you half as much to run vs the 400w. Unless you put a huge fixture in that tent like a 4ft 8bulb (ive tried lol) heat wont be a problem. The big fixtures in smaller tents act like a umbrella and trap the heat. My 4" fan is 190cfm and its overkill so you shouldnt need a huge exhaust fan and id use a passive intake. I personaly open just one flap on the tent. I also hang my inline from the top of the tent with a bunjie cord. Helped dimmed the sound of it and keeps it within the tent. I have two 4x4, a 4x2 and a 3x2 tents in a 8x11 room my space is limited lol.
