Amount of beneficial leafs during flowering

Hey all,

I've got three Power Plants going that I started from seed. I have cloned one phenotype because of its fast growth and superior smell. I thought my phenotype selection was a done deal..

But, I noticed during flowering that the runt of the liter (it leans more to the indica side) is retaining much more leaves than the other two plants. Now I'm wondering if all those leaves (energy source) will result in bigger and more dense colas compared to the other two plants? Or will it just mean more trimming? Hehe..

Thanks!

Pic 1
1st choice pheno, the best smell and vigorous growth.

Pic 2
Indica leaning pheno. Much more leafs and a bit more pest resistant.

Power plant is a sativa cross. Both plants have narrow leaves.

I would wait til buds are smokable to decide.

As a grower, which one would you prefer to see mid-way through flowering:

Pic1 or Pic 2?

Also, if I wait until after harvest, I won't be able to get a clone from the other indica leaning plant. That's why I'm trying to figure out if it's worth setting aside the time+space+resources for this particular phenotype.

Thanks!

Like I said. You can’t tell yet. And neither plant is indica leaning.

If you are going to keep a mother you need to keep clones of all plants through harvest. It’s only a guess any earlier.

You can also reveg the one you like best. I have had plants clones revegged at 10 weeks flowering.

Then take clones off the revegged plant.

Sorry there are no shortcuts.

Thanks MMG for that insightful information. I appreciate that.

I was assuming the leafy plant was indica leaning because of the lower stature, the slightly bigger leaves and what looks like fewer, but bigger branches. Is leaf size the only property to judge by when determining if a particular phenotype is leaning more towards indica genetics?

Thanks!
