it says 2.5 ozs but is that total orjust when your out of your house? my girlfrend is goin tomorow to talk to the people and 2.5 ozs aint alot to have if ur growing 12 mature plants

The idea is to have perpetual harvests, so you never have to pass 2.5oz. It is also 2.5z per card, so if you have multiple, you can carry more.
What caregiver said is spot on. The legalities are to create a perpetual grow, but not one that gets out of hand.
As I see it, if you have the space, and also are a patient and have a partner/spouse, your limit per person with 2+ patients is 7.5 oz (2.5 personal +5 caregiver) *2; 15oz combined.
That is dried/drying (grey area from what I can find, once you snip it and trim, i think they'll count it as weight.. Just something to be alert of) product in possession at one time.
So with that in mind, the best grow I could imagine and please correct me if I'm wrong, I really want to be as efficient as possible, sort of an efficiency geek... Is tree grows spaced 2 weeks apart.
You can veg as long as you'd like, but 24 plants in 2 week rotation would allow sufficient ( but not optimal) drying/curing for the last 15oz. So you have 2 weeks to make sure the product is going out the door to your 10 patients (2.5oz is also the max single transaction I beleive, though I'm not sure how much a patient can buy every 30 days, or is there no rule?)
Please let me know what more experienced and thoughtful minds think of my layout.
I really want to help people out in a legal fashion, and want to make sure I'm not putting myself in legal risk as well.

From what I understand the law states a total of 5 oz period no matter how many patient you have as a CG (allowed 5), not sure if you are a patient CG but the way I read it is the most anyone should ever have other than a compassion center is 5 oz period. The law also describes your limit as being dry usable material! How they judge that is up to the individual LEO. So if you have a shit load of trim jarred up dry as a bone that counts toward your limit. Have you read the law itself? I can find a link for you if you need it. I have also heard that if you seal your curing jars with a date in and date complete it may cover you toward the useable limit. The law has a lot of room for interpretation and not much precedent to reference yet. T

5oz is the max...Its such a bad limit cause most ok growers can hit the 5oz mark from 1 single plant.
Local store owner told me if you had labels and start date that you could fight it up to 30days if it was usable or not... do you have the exact label you would print to do this? Tried to find it on the statues but couldnt.

It's not in the bill or amendments that I know of. It is just a strategy that you may employ in order to better your chances of fighting a quantity discrepancy if it comes down to it. I would just make a simple label / seal that remains unbroken (like a piece of tape with a cure start date and a cure end date). The writing should be across the tape / seal in order for it to remain unbroken. If you need to open it for some reason make a new seal. The safest way is to never go over your legal limit but that may be near impossible with the low quantities legally allowed in the Ocean State. Like HghFlyrJD1 said 5 oz period is unrealistic IMO but it's the law. Hope they increase it going forward.

I'm going to speak to a lawyer that has experience with the ri marijuana laws to better understand things. Interpretation is a very important aspect.
Do you think the bi-weekly 1-2 tree harvest is the best way? To have the 10z (2 CGs)?
More of a pain then a larger UC... But would keep me always under the legal amount.
Any brainstorming on best grow system to use for ri limits?

Has a crime just occurred? What part of what happened is illegal?

Weed is sch I drug, a sch I drug is said to have no medical affect... but yet we are prescribed cards for weed as a medicine...
When it is decriminalized any one over 21 is allowed to have up to an ounce with no criminal arrest but yet im allowed ounce as cardholder and your allowed ounce as a citizen if i hand you an ounce we just broke the law.

The US Government holds the patent on the medicinal attributes of cannabis, and they will never take it off Schedule I class because that would be admitting to the world that the US drug war has been perhaps the greatest social engineering failure since the beginning of time.
Didn't you read somewhere that the law says patients can gift meds to other patients? So by that assumption, the only thing illegal would be the donation. But maybe its not a donation, maybe you're paying me back that money I let you borrow back in October. So maybe none of it is illegal. I suspect it all depends on the dialogue between the parties. Just like on COPS, they need certain words to be spoken before they have probable cause to go in and grab someone up.

Friendly , I'm concerned with the 5oz "dry" at once possession limit. That seems very small to be able to supply 5 patients reliably.
With 24 flower and 12 veg , can you give me your thoughts on how I can best stay within my limits? There will be 2 of us, so 10oz dry would be acceptable.

The Fourth Amendment of the Bill of Rights, and not leaving your house with more than 5 oz. You can't leave the house with >5 or the police may find you and arrest you. In the law it says each patient is supposed to only buy a certain amount from the dispensaries each calendar month or 30-day cycle, so whatever that amount is multiplied by 5 is all you can produce per month. That's the compliance officer answer, and Hans Blix isn't scheduled to inspect your tactical underground grow room any time soon. So again, 4th Amendment & not carrying over 5 oz.
The real answer to your question depends on three variables: what your garden yields, how well you can manage a perpetual harvest, and how much demand there is from your patients for your medicine. It's sort of like predicting the weather.

No caregiver or patient can take a donation from ANYONE besides a CG getting a donation from his or her SIGNED patient.LEGALLY..No a patient cant take a donation from another and no you cant donate to random caregivers.GIFT now,you CAN GIVE FREE meds to any patient /CG you want.NO MONEY TRANSACTIONS.
