Seriously, there is the Anne Frank Museum, The Van Gogh Museum, Red Light District, and many pubs and coffee shops to enjoy! And I hear you can smoke weed there.

it's really nice, good price, and amsterdam is known for shitty hostels so yeah... this one was pretty clean.... they have cheap heineken in the cafeteria in the afternoons.... good for a little pre-gaming before hitting the red light district ... booyah!!!

it's not in the touristy area near the canals, it's a bit far to the east in zeerburg, a mostly middle eastern neighborhood.... ppl were really nice, and there's a lil coffee shop round the corner that doesn't sell any really good weed, but if its late and you run out, it'll be open later than most other coffee shops..... you have to take the train or hike it to get to the canal-zone, but it's not too far, if i'm not mistaken i had to hike it more than once during my stay.... enjoy!!

i've been to the dam, and wore my nyc sweatshirt the whole time, and people couldn't have been more friendly to me... i was talking to this one bud tender one day, and she saw me the next day in central station struggling with the ticket machine, and she came right over and asked if i could use some help.. super friendly people are the dutch, and i def. didn't get any slack for being an american there..

We stayed near the Casino, really crowded and expensive, but my rents were paying for it. I'd go with a place like stayokay or somewhere a little farther out. You explore more the more you walk! Defintley check out the Anne Frank house, I waited over an hour in that line but it was totally worth it. Incredible stuff.

Go to every coffee shop you can!! Smoke everything ahh!! Prostitutes are kinda crazy though I've only seen really old nasty dudes going in the rooms with them.......your call...............

i like the way you think, and its exactly what i did while i was there.. around my way, i hardly ever come across hash, and in amsterdam, they have sooo much good hash to smoke, its hardly even worth smoking the bud there imho.. not that i didn't, but i sure smoked a lot of hash while there..
i have a tip for you.. in some of the coffee shops, they sell this lil book called the smokers guide to amsterdam that costs like five euros or so.. get it.. it has a nice map in it that has all of the better coffee shops on it, and has some coupons and shit in it as well..
there is also a website called the smokers guide to amstersdam, and its pretty cool.. they have a long list of strains, all with smoke reports, and telling you from what coffee shop the bud was purchased from.. same wtih hash as well.. definitely a pretty cool lil book for the money...
i also rented a bike for like a day one day while i was there, and i definitely recommend it to anyone going.. its the way the dutch get around, and its a great way to get around the city and see the sights..

Try not to get too drawn into the whole get fucked off your face in a coffee shop routine. Force yourself out to find all the wicked interesting places I didn't take this route on my first trip, and i just sat around on sofas drinking black coffees stoned off my face, rather akin to normal, lots i should have taken the time to see being it was a 5 day trip

there's a councilman or someshit trying to get this passed but it hasn't passed, and most dutch don't think that way.

and the dutch don't act like assholes to americans, the french do, and it's not that bad. i'd go back to france any day. they're kinda snotty towards americans but unless you're really thin skinned, you'll love the sites....
