An 4 by 8 grow tent w/ 2 600 hps

What's up everyone? I have a simple (yet tough for myself :wall: ) question.

I am growing with 2 -600 watt hps bulbs (hooded and fanned) in a 4 by 8 grow tent. My question is how much space do I have with each light? I heard 4'x4' is good for each 600 watt hps, but it just seems like too much area for one light to cover? I have the light about 9 inches above the plants. Should the light be higher in order to reach each plant in a 4x4 area?

Also, right now I am flowering romulans that are about 2 and a half feet high. I only plan on growing mostly indica plants, if that helps.

ok, good start. Thanks for the "yes", how high would you suggest I place the lights, and would it be better (yield) to just concentrate on a smaller area, say 3x3?

(I hope the "yes" wasn't just one of those Tony Robbin influential statements either:clap:, jk.

4x4 seems ok to mee but 9 ins sounds close i think a 600 work best for about 3 ft or so then they loose lumens,
i think ud be best of doing a scrog i had a great result with 2x 600w in a 3x6 area but i had light bleaching because it was to mutch light in a small area so next time would go for 4x8 scrog deffo.look into scrogs.

if its to late to train u plants under the screen try tying the ones directly under the light down keep them say 3ft and the outer ones higher so they not to far from the light if this makes sence.

you can pik a light intensity meter up for quite cheap aswell great tool. gd luk

i dont see why the 9 inches is bad as long temps are in desired conditions. its about a 1 foot from my canopy on 3x6 with 2 400s. obviously its aircooled. u have to think about how far the light has to travel to its limit square. mine is 400w over 3x3 square at 12inchs from center theres 18 inches to the walls of my square. over 2 feet lumens for any light is HALF. keep that in mind.

to be honest you should just do some research instead of asking so many ???'s your kind of annoying to be real bro if you know so much then do what you know if you dont know research if you can find answer then ask a ??? go buy a a light meter and get some readings find some diagrams how much light you loose and how much coverage from what heighths lights have

Lol, ok???? (asking questions) First, I did research my question and found mixed results. This is why I posted a specific question to fit "my" specific need (and thank you to those who replied with very helpful advice, which now makes me more comfortable about my grow).

Lastly, did I ever say that was a picture of me? No, you just assumed it, (like you did about my question being asked without any research being done, and I am sure you know what they say about assumptions). But guess what it's not a picture of me. Unless of course I was the former host of Fear Factor, and a current broadcaster for UFC (hint, hint Joe Rogan) in which case, DAMN I love my life :bigjoint:

600 watts is good for a 3x3 area with a 16 inch pentration. If your running air cooled hoods preferably 8 inch you can have them 8 inches easily. And with all of those over sized hoods you can easily do a sea of green or SCROG. With 600 I always recommend using co2 especially in a tent.
