An "Old-Timer" in a new location

I"m glad I found this site which is obviously filled with some great information. I've been growing now for just over 30 years a "skill" I learned from my father. My grandfather started growing way way back in the day when weed grew just about everywhere. My father and GF grew only for the family, as I do. My father has 4 "strains" that he "developed" as a young man and I still grow the same 4 today; called Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. The Fall strain was found along side of a road by my dad found while riding his bike back in the 40's in that great state of Tennessee (least that is what he told me). I've only recently have become interested in hydroponics and hope I can decide if i should proceed or just stay with my soil. I've never bought "store bought ferts". I learned from dad how to make my own ferts (tea) and my son has tried it in something called a bubbler. So far it seems to work just as good as it does for soil plants. On our farm we have all elements that God has for us to make our own ferts so why buy the stuff. On the Fall strain I get just under a pound and half. Something is working... I love reading the posts on here and I will be honest it seems some are trying to make growing weed harder than it really is. I'll be happy to help anyway I can but my knowledge is KISS.
