The fact is, both parties shut the government down because of their partisan politics and the lack of leadership in the White House.
One thing I can say about Bill Clinton, even though I disagree with his policies, he new how to be a leader.

This is simple common sense. To avoid a government shutdown, all the democrats had to do was concede to the republicans or the republicans could have conceded to the democrats. Or, they could have worked together and met in the middle.
Both parties had those choices, both parties refused And both parties shutdown the government.

Now, getting hacks on the left and right to admit to this, is another question.

Thousands of citizens will realize exactly what they're getting, and they'll start to get pissed.
Crooks and scum from all walks are starting to look for and exploit loopholes to game the system.
Contractors and lobbyists are planning on who to bribe for contracts, and politicians are starting to look forward to kick-back payments.
And on the news we'll start to see "Obamacare saves the poor, babies, women, and the elderly" stories...

The beginning indeed.
