23 watt (6500K) right above the dome at least 18 hours a day

I use a 15 watt, 18 inch T8

It really isnt necessary that clones get any more light than they would get sitting on a table in front of a window ( not direct sunlight ), but a CFL ^^^^^^^^^ couldn't hurt.

So they don't need much light.... will it hurt if I'm runnin 4 42w 2700k bilbs just for the heat they produce ?

If that is too much light I can always put it in a box in my clost with only 1 or 2 42w bilbs since my closet has no a/c vent and it stays about 83 in my closet

So then I should only use 1 42w bulb about 3-5 inches above the dome and keep the clones in my closet so they stay around 82-84 degres F? Then they would benefit the most and best from That based on what yall are saying ?

You just want that photo synthetic motor just ticking over, a soft small cfl will do, as growing roots is but cambium engineering, and all the fun happens in the dark anyways ...lol..as most roots appear in 5-10 days, you are hardily depriving your cuttings of light, as once the roots are on, they go straight to veg?

Think about it.....do they make heat mats for your cloning tray? Or do they make special cloning lights? Obviously it's the former. A little light and alot of humidity is the perfect scenario for your clones.

T5 48" panel for vegging plants but I keep my aerocloners on the floor beneath the t5 and those clones are about 3' from source and fare pretty well for the two weeks it takes them to be ready to be planted and go up onto the veg table with the rest.
Clones need little light. Until they're rooted. Then they get direct 6500K t5 goodness.

A 42w is more then needed but not over done. Keep it high I'd say at least 3ft. If you have some cheese cloth or some thing to that nature hang it over the domes. It's a tube bulb right? Humidity domes do wonders if you don't already have one ( 2 liters work great if your a cheap sob)
