White Widow is a hybrid (Sativa x Indica).
The high is not really a couch-lock high.

You just need to make sure you have a check on the trichomes.
How are they looking?
You want to harvest when they are cloudy (not amber).

When trichomes turn amber the THC is broken into CBN (which isn't psychoactive).

k0ijn, I've heard people say that you want some amber trichromes for a more couch lock high. This is my first grow and all of my trichs are milky looking. You would suggest taking the plant down now them? Also how long does it take to go from cloudy to amber? In general...days, weeks?

When trichomes turn amber they are degrading the THC into CBN.
CBN is psychoactive (but only mildly, not to the same effect as THC).
The problem is that losing THC to CBN because you want a more couch-lock high is not the right way to go.

You want an Indica strain for the couch-lock high (preferably a 100% Indica).

The general rule is that:

Sativa: energetic / head high.
Indica: couch-lock high.

There are of course variables to look for and som strains are different, but that is basically the theory behind it.

To sum up; yes I would harvest the plant when it's trichs are cloudy, that ensures maximum THC and relatively less CBN etc.

Please don't hesitate to ask more if you don't get my points, I'll explain a bit more fully.
This is just hastily written, basic info.

I Will not harvest Unless I see AMBER. last time I harvested with no amber it was a waste.
I don't see how harvesting milky trichomes (and thereby having as close to 100% THC as possible) would be 'a waste'.
Amber trichomes are a sign of the trichomes substances being degraded from THC to CBN, which is psychoactive, but not as active as THC.

Why not get an Indica strain and harvest while milky instead of driving strains to degrade THC (and thereby lose THC and pain relief)?

CBN said:
CBN (Cannabinol): Mildly psychoactive. Non-narcotic analgesic (pain relieving). Good indication of medications age.
vs.

THC said:
THC (tetrahydrocannabinol): Psychotropic. Analgesic (pain relieving). Apatite stimulant. Bronchial dilator. Lowers IOP/glaucoma.
