Your confusing the right with the far-right. The left doesn't actually own the positive values and leaving the right made of the negatives. Slight misconception.
Would you say that Trump was the candidate of the right or the far right? Because I saw nothing from Trump that even remotely resembles the conservative right. How about you?
96% of Republican voters cast their vote for Trump. You'd be splitting hairs if you focus on the 4% of Republicans who remain in the conservative (right) camp.
Trumpers aren't even "far right" in the typical sense. They have zero issues with big government, regulations or federal dollars sent their way. They are authoritarian followers and have no ideology other than supporting their authoritarian leader. He fed them fascism, white supremacy and culture war. He didn't even have a policy platform when he ran in 2020. It was all about him.
What remains after subtracting Trump's authoritarian followers is a coalition of left, center and moderate right. Their home for now is in the Democratic Party. I think you are stuck in the past.
