Another Ridiculous Pot Bust

A friend of mine just brought to my attention the story of a grow-house bust in Philadelphia this past week. Apparently, four college students from Temple University were operating a grow room in their city apartment close to the campus. Police seized 9 live plants in a hydro setup, 16lbs of packaged marijuana, and about $12,000 in cash.

According to the police, the weed had a street value of more than $145,000! Yeah right... I think that works out to about $9500/lb, which we all know is a load of bullshit. The four are being charged with possession with intent to distribute.

The growers got caught because they decided it was a good idea to sell the weed right out of the grow-house. Here's a tip kids.... if you grow weed for commercial purposes, don't sell it out of your grow house! The cops noticed large amounts of traffic into and out of the house over a period of several weeks. They enlisted the help of a snitch, who was welcomed into the house, shown the operation, and sold an ounce of bud. Apparently, the majority of the customers were Temple students and , in the spirit of karma, the growers didn't think any trouble would come to them by being so blatantly stupid about their operation.

Not that I take the side of the cops, but people like this give us honest, savvy growers a bad rep. Chalk up another one for the bacon...

That price would be right if you broke each gram into a $20 bag. I am glad the police are good at picking low hanging fruit. It keeps them busy and away from me

Yeah I agree... better them than me I hate it how the cops always amp up the "street value" of the weed they seize just to make the story more impressive.

I always love the retarded numbers they come up with on busts, here in Canada that crop would only be worth 32k if all sold on the street in dime bags maybe 80k but we all know that doesn't happen, and on the east coast I'm guessing not too much more.

I remember one here in Canada that there numbers added up to like $1200 a ounce, the sad part is the general public are actually fooled into believing the tax dollars are actually working, lol.

I agree. What's worse is that in Philadelphia, they have just passed the 300th murder of the year, including 20+ police officers, and real drugs such as heroin, crack, and crystal meth are easier to obtain than cigarettes. And this is the shit they are spending time and resources on.

Yes, and the biggest shit show is how the government allows doctors and pharmaceutical companies to kill more people then ever with easily obtainable prescription drugs than all other drugs combined. I don't have any stats but it's not hard to see, It's a messed up world we live in. Then theres always alcohol and cigarette's that are no better than marijuana, if not worse.

I hope Canada one day grows some balls and says forget what the US law makers are doing and go our own way, seems like we just follow the US laws even though no one in Canada gives two shits about a little weed.

Alcohol and tobacco are exponentially more dangerous than weed. This is a scientific, provable fact. How many people die or are hospitalized every year because of alcohol or tobacco-related illness? The number is staggering. Compare that to 0 people who have ever died or developed a marijuana-related illness.

yeah they've showed many people. the kids at this school are idiots, I can't wait to transfer.
