Antics compares PlatinumLED P300 vs PlatinumLED P450

Thanks a ton easty, I appreciate it. The humidity was brutal here, and my ac just couldn't keep up.

I ended up losing, what I estimate to be between a 1/4 to a 1/2 from each plant. Anything remotely moldy is tossed, and anything touching it is also tossed. Moldy bud is immediately taken out of the grow and disposed of.

They're just finishing the drying now, I'll have a final weight in a few days.

P300 is on the left, P450 on the right. They're in identical Amazon boxes. And there's a difference of about an inch or so in height.

They should be dry for sure this week, and ready to cure. I'll take the final weight before they go into jars.

I'm looking forward to the miracle grow, grow next. I have those beans in the ground, with 2 plants up in the air, waiting on 2 more. I'll be growing these to cross two strains, Brasil KC, and Nightmare on elm st. I'll also be trying the finished bud, to see how it smokes, using MG for nutes.

Oh mate, spewing about the mould! It's hard to keep an environment perfect sometimes, no matter how hard you try! Looks like you still ended up with a decent yield though which is great!
I look forward to your next grow bud, tag me when you have it up and running!!

The verdict is in. I usually go with a 10-14 day dry time, but I didn't want to take chances.

Overall, we didn't do bad, I was hoping to come in over 3/4lb, but we ended up just shy of that after losing some bud to mold.

Some pictures just aren't staying rotated properly for some reason. I apologize for the sideways images.

Here's some of the bud we lost. I didn't take a picture of everything I had to toss, but It ended up around a 1/2-3/4 ounce per plant. And a closeup as well.

I dried them down to 55% RH before putting them into jars. Usually I just go to 60-62%

Here's a few nug shots. I unfortunately had to break up all the colas for drying purposes, which annoys me, but we still have plenty to enjoy.

0928161500.jpg 0928161502b.jpg 0928161501.jpg 0928161500a.jpg

Our grand totals were:

P300 produced 144.88 grams, or 5.21 ounces
P450 produced 183.68 grams, or 6.56 ounces

I'm guessing without the mold problem, our P300 would have done right around 6 ounces, which is right in line with the last grow I did with the P300, which yielded 6 ounces.
I figure the P450 would've given me around 7-7.5 ounces.

Overall, I'm still really happy with the results, I just wish I didn't run into any issues, I would have liked to see an accurate weight without losing any bud.

Thanks to all who followed along and checked out the grow!

Next grow, I'm going to be crossing Nightmare on Elm St. with Brasil_KC, and we're going to see how good, or bad miracle grow does. That was going to my first choice for nutrients when I started, and everyone told me ohhhhh no. I see a lot of new growers looking to try MG as well.
I thought since I have a handle on growing, I'd spend a little time to see if it can be done, and if so, how well it works.

This will be the product used from start to finish.

I'll start a new journal in a couple weeks when the seedlings are established.

Definitely recommend you forgo AdvancedPlatinum and go with COBS. If you can afford AdvancedPlatinum, you can afford the more powerful, more efficient Top Bingo COBs and drivers.

I'm putting trics on 2-3 day old seedlings with a PPFD of 849, and using only 89w.

I'm currently using PlatinumLED, not advanced.
Oh. Is that one of the economy lines? I wasn't trying to be pompous. I'm just warning you not to shell out the same money on AP you would spend on the COBs.

Never worked with Platinum, but I often recommend ViparSpectra to people, because it's proven to me it's suitable for closet operations you might be looking to yield several ounces with.

I've been doing just fine.

Have a good one.

I didn't mean it like that, man. I just meant I have no experience with them to judge them by.
These are PlatinumLED for sure, I got them right from the website, and even talked to the owner before getting them. They're not the Amazon Advanced Platinum. I've been pulling 6zips with the P300 alone, which has been more than enough for myself to enjoy. I absolutely plan to upgrade to COB in the future, but these are working great though, so for the time being, I plan on keeping them. I've been really happy so far with the results.

Dude, I just said, I wasn't talking shit. I have no experience with them to judge them is all. I still use my ViparSpectras at another location because regular LED panels are still effective, they just aren't the latest and greatest, power and efficiency-wise. Nothing wrong with that, though.

I wasn't responding like you were talking shit. I was merely responding to what you said. Nothing more.
I have a few friends running the COBS, and they love them. They're on my want list, but not within budget at the current time.

Regarding your budget, I have two things to say:

1. For the price of running 3-4 CFLs or an incandescent and a half, you can put out power similar to that of 400-600w Super HPS (albeit not with the same coverage), this increasing your yields larger than you can potentially get them now, and for less than even your LED panel uses.

2. One harvest and it pays for itself many times over.

Whatever the case may be, I enjoy the lights, they perform quite well, and I'm happy with my choice. It was a simple comparison grow between the two lights. I'm not sure how it warrants you coming in here and bashing shit that I own, but whatever helps you feel better about yourself.

The fact remains that I have better things to do than argue on a forum.

Thanks for stopping by.

I didn't know the COBS were that efficient. Damn. I wouldn't doubt that they pay for themselves at all, the problem lies with expendable income. I've got a lot tied up in a Cutlass I'm restoring, and building a 455 for it.

I honestly appreciate your input, the COBS will be the first thing on my mind when it comes time to upgrade.
