For anxiety and depression, I recommend making it into brownies. Eating it is way less prone to anxiety and paranoia. I like a hybrid like white widow because I really like the cerebral aspect of sativa, and white widow very rarely causes paranoia for me even when smoking. I'm going to grow some northern light next, which I am curious about.
Here is my formula. Just use whatever brownie mix you like, but make sure it uses an average amount of vegetable oil, between 1/3 and 1/2 cup. I use a non-stick cupcake tin, so I can make precise amounts. Get some decent weed and put about two fat joints worth into each cupcake brownie mix. I usually just chop it up with some good scissors, but using a little coffee grinder can't hurt. After you put the batter into cup tray, I mix in the weed, stirring until it blends. Now cook it. Afterwards, I bag each cupcake in a regular baggie, put in a little airtight container and store in the freezer. I swear it gets stronger with age. Sometimes I only eat 1/4 at a time, sometimes more, depending on the quality of pot. There is a variation in the way it hits you, sometimes you get a buzz after half an hour, sometimes it takes longer. Sometimes it builds and hits hard later. You will sleep like a baby. If you want to add it to a whole brownie mix, I recommend 1/2 cup of pulverized weed blended in a coffee grinder. This is a good time to grind your small bud sticks, which have lots of THC. It is a good time to use your shake, except the big fan leaves and big branches. Just mix it in completely and cook. With this, maybe cut in 2" squares.
What I really like about eating is low anxiety body high you get. And don't kid yourself, depending on the how strong you make it and how much you eat, it can really knock you on your ass. I recommend you experiment with each new batch to see how much you like to eat.
