I’m about 5 weeks in veg using ffof. I only been giving cal mag every watering and was not phing.
Any ideas of what’s the cause of these brown spots? Calcium?

I starting phing cal mag to 6.9 today and top dressed with some 4-8-4
Looks cal related to me, do you have whole plant pics?

What lights are you using? Could be early signs of nute deficiencies due to the nutes in the soil being all used up. I think FF says the nutes are usually good for 6 weeks or so.

Well if you just top dressed, and added in cal mag, I would expect the issues to relent. Although Im not sure what you top dressed with?
I have used some compost/kelp and various teas with success i usually top dress with ewc a little early.

I used down to earth rose and flower mix 4-8-4 to top dress this morning for first time and use general hydroponics cal mag mixed in my water every watering since week 1 I never ph’ed it until today should I continue phing?

Cal/mag every watering? Really?

I only need that when I find deficient - I guess my dolomite lime keeps it in check.

Ya I’m no pro and far from a confident grower but that how i have done it every time I’ve grown.... I was just trying to find out what is causing the brown spots with some slight yellow around it

My guesses of the problem is 1. Ph 2. P or k def because I know the cal is in the soil but idk if ph is locking it out or if p and k just needed some amending

I have a feeling #2 is correct. Its just time to feed a full balanced food. you dont need the calmag every watering unless you are using RO water but if its not hurting then no need in listening to me.

Time to start feeding them.

Ya I use r/o which is why I cal mag every watering which may or may not be needed every watering but I do it just to be safe... I might cut back to every other watering on cal mag

If you are using meters to check stuff in your water, then you will need to add something to the RO to get an accurate reading. Anything will work.
I wouldnt change anything ...unless the calmag is getting expensive then you can find several alternatives.
