I want to buy this blower and set it up in my room

http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?catname=&item=16-1258

....however it runs off of dc and i dont know anything about electricity or even where to look for a power supply. Everything ive found is rediculously priced. Im looking for the most price conscious power supply i can to run this thing. Any help is MUCH appreciated, my room is rediculously hot and i need some cheap venthilation quick.

I figured i could run some 6" ducting to this bad boy from my lights and run the exhaust out the window.....i have DIY carbon scrubbers on the other ends of the lines though too, no smell right? :)

Any help is appreciated guys!!!

Search around for some DC to AC inverters. I'm not an electrician so I don't want to make any suggestions on specifics, but I just wanted to let you know that they do make them. You'll end up spending just as much with that fan and an inverter as you would just buying a 400cfm inline though.

Sorry I couldn't be of much more help. If nothing else, this will bump your post ;-)

it says u need a minimium of 24 volt dc so u got to buy a 24v dc charger
u would be better off finding a 110-120 volt ac fan

Dude...forget that POS. First off, squirel cage fans (like this one) are extremely LOUD. Second, 53 VDC is an odd voltage...and transformer will be expensive. You're being seduced by the cheap price. But, it aint gonna work, my man. If it did, you'll shut it down in 10 seconds because the noise. Save your money and get an inline fan.

Ok guys, what other options do i have for cheaper high cfm inline fans? Noise is not an issue. The room is on the opposite end of the house and is enclosed.

one of the worst mistakes you can make imo, is to buy an inadequate/cheap extractor fan
i am all for saving money and time/effot but spending money on a good extractor fan is a solid investment my fans run 24/7 as i know how important it is too keep the air as "fresh" as possible around the plants at all times

you say yourself you have alot of heat you need to get rid of don't try to cut corners with air extraction
you can buy a 6inch or 8 inch inline rvk type fan cheap enough from $60 upward or £60 in the uk

look on ebay for 6inch - 8 inch inline fans ;-)

I'm not a fan of internet sales. I like to be able to return stuff to a real person and walk out the door iwhtr a new unit. The Active Air fans are rated cor 24/7 duty. Most of my fans are active air. These are running 24/7 without problem. 8" at 720CFM retails for $185...you should get 20% off that.
