any experienced compost users ?

Just bought a bag of compost. Mainly composed of "cow manure". Soil dude told me to be careful with how much i mix in with my soil base as it could "burn the plant". Question is to those with experience dealing with compost. How much is too much ? And if used, is fertilizing still necessary ?

My base soil is 1/3 peat 1/3 composted steer/chicken manure 1/3 perlite..
Dr Earth 444 1 tbls per gal of soil.. Composted manure doesn't burn.. Green manure does..

When I fill my tiers in my terrace I use ten bags of composted manure with one cube of peat moss then I add earthworm casing, lobster and other seafood shells and chicken shit. I moved over 60 bags of composted manure to my terraces and I plant directly in it. When I start in the tent I use Coast of Maine soil with lobster instead of composted manure but when they go outside they are stuffed in the composted manure.

You be good for 3 or 4 weeks id think with that mix id think before you need to feed em

Correct well rotted compost wont burn so easy its the young stuff that does
