Any farmers on the site

Like real farmers? I've found out growing is my passion. I want to get a degree in agribusiness and start a farm. I want to know if there's anybody else doing this? What about getting a degree in agriculture. A farmer has to be the best job in the world. I would seriously be just as satisfied growing a crop of corn as I do a crop of weed.

Farming is a bloody hard job. Good luck mate. I could go on all day about how hard it is. Especially for somebody who wants to become a farmer. Out of personal interest, could I hear the reasons you want to be a farmer? You must be very passionate about growing stuff.

You think? I want to just hire a bunch of people to work it once I got things up and running. I bet I would barely have to anything if I hired a bunch of Mexicans. (No offense to any Mexicans, I love you guys.)
yeah, I know a few farmers...... REALLY long hours, constantly working.... it's a bitch.... and you wont make any money if you pay a bunch of other people to do the work. insurance is expensive as fuck, but pretty much mandatory.

Hmmm thanks for the advice. I'll have to check into these things. I guess it just depends on the size of your farm. I know the ranchers that have like 1,000 head of cattle make in the high six figures a year. I wouldn't mind having a few thousand heifers and making in the six figures:mrgreen:... I'm thinking of a corporation. Not just a run of the mill farm. But, of course, you have to start somewhere b4 you can do that. And I'm not afraid of a little hard work, at all.

no problem.......
The farmer I know has lots of cattle as well as owns more farmland than anyone else within 50 miles or so of him, and yet he struggles every year..... it's a bitch of a life man........ insurance is a killer, like six figures a year type killer, but if your crop doesn't add up to what it's supposed to, it pays you for the rest. or if your entire crop is fucked, it pays you for all of it.....

Ok cool. This is the kind of advice I was looking for. Thanks man. I don't how, but for some reason, I completely forgot you have to have insurance to do something like this. I wonder what the most profitable crop to grow would be?

My moms side of the family are all farmers its a hard life but its worth it seeing your crop grow i love it my self. Plus once you get a green house going make a little back room for some pot. Its going to cost a good deal of money though. Land tools tractors seeds but if you want to do it go for it.
