Does anyone no of a good cloning tutorial i can follow? My last clones died cause of wilson rooting liquid and cold temps at night the stems went purple. This time i have rootech gel and better conditions for night time

The environment is a lot more important then the gel or hormones being used. Its all about the perfect humidity in the dome. The pucks you use should be just moist , not wet. When these conditions are met you can literally use your fingernail to take a clone and not use any gel or hormone and they will root fast.

I mist the dome and leave it closed the first couple of days but let air in once a day. I also have a light on them for 16 hours, not a terribly bright one though. Also I make sure there are less leaves on the branch, encouraging it to develop roots rather than soaking up the light.

When you cut use sharp sterile tools with no oil on them

I do this for the most part, but there are many times where I'm working in one of the veg tents and find branching I want to remove, so I'll just thumbnail pinch them off, and put them right in the cloner. I've fortunately never had a problem with disease or issues, but I do recommend using a sterile device for the operation like you did.

I mostly use my pocket knife, as long as it sharp enough for a good clean cut. You don't want any crushing or long slivers on your 45, could cause rot.

Moisture is the key. Temp is important also. Unless one had gone down l try not to spray the leave. I will spray the dome and the plug when needed, something you'll have to get the hang of.

I like big cutting already topped growing several tips.

I use the cheap Walmart rooting powder, works just as well as the jel.

I've rooted straight into dirt, them expanding peat plugs, and them rapid rooters plugs. I like how tight the rapids hold the cuttings.

Do i need high humidity if i do it this way
Nope dont even need a dome or light or ph the water. I just keep them in ambient room light. Try it out with a few it's a nice backup even if you pick something else. I do keep them kinda cool though like low 70s. Was thinking of trying some pool shock water if the heat messes with it. Have some going now in 80 degree temps so we'll seeIMG_20200130_204925169.jpgIMG_20200130_204839325.jpg

I think one important thing that needs to be mentioned is the quality/thickness of the growing shoot you’re trying to clone. I had shit luck cloning tiny little offshoots from the inside of the plant that were super thin. (I was being paranoid about fucking up the plant’s symmetry, I guess OCD or something.) Once I started cutting off real nice thick shoots that were among the nicest branch tips on the outer part of the plant, the cloning got easier.
