Hi im a first time buyer on a tight budget. I have chosen to grow with LED's as I'm growing in a small (750mm x 500mm x 250mm) with minimum ventialtion (enough to keep plant alive). Have any of you had experience with the Apollo Horticulture LED grow lights? Personally I am thinking of using the 135watt UFO LED. Thanks and advance and please keep in mind it is my first grow attempt! :bigjoint:

i know one person who used them . He sold them right away after one batch. Save your money for better quality led or go cmh. You can get a cmh for the same price as that ufo.
Thanks for the reply well in that case i was thinking of maby using 2 80watt CFL bulbs as they seem to be the next best thing for small grows, would 160watts be sufficient for a space of 2.5' x 2' or 75cm by 50cm (roughly).

the cree globes from home depot would be a better option the cfls.

Hyroot how do you know that... I use two 200w equiv bulbs in a weird reflector I hang above my plants and my cfls are WAYYYYYY more powerful than those cree LEDs altho the crees are better for lumen per watt mine have a much higher output at the cost of some extra power but they run at 6500k and those LEDs run at 5000k.

did you know most cfl's are mono or tri phos and not full spectrum. The leds are full spectrum. Personally I've seen better results with 3000k than I have with the 5000k. If you put a single bulb in a clamp or reptile reflector . You will get a higher par than having 2 cree bulbs in the same reflector, Because of how the leds are placed in there. At 6 inches away one bulb in a reflector hits about 550 µmole/s. Imo there too much blue in the 5000k. They do work pretty good for rooting clones. The 3000k work much better. With led. I 'd never go higher than 400k -4500k. Anything higher imo is useless.

I use the 100w equivelant 18 watt bulbs not the 9.5 watt ones.

That's funny because under my lux meter I get WAY higher readings with the CFL than the LED. And for Veg 6500k works amazing I have a t5 6500k and these CFL lights 6500k and I get really nice short internodes green plants very nice for veg.

3000k makes plants stretch way too much unless you got a big space but mine is short so I keep my plants short.

try 5400 k t5's from htg. you will get much faster growth and less stretch. lux meter measures lumens not par. get an apogee par meter. Lumens is irrelevant to plant growth

I use apollo horticulture hps/mh, done me good so far, plants are happy, 600w
yeah I use the Apollo HID and it works well, I wouldn't shrug off the LED's until you get more opinions. No offense to dudemanbro's friend be he could have just been terrible at growing and blamed the lights...who knows...I thought I seen someone on here using them but cant remember were.
