why don't they just call this the DIY forum? Where does a guy go if he just wants to pull out a credit card and buy a light?

Go to area 51 led or optic led lighting. If you want to buy crap be my guest
ok, thanks for the help, now I know two lights not to buy with a credit card, could you possibly recommend one I SHOULD buy with a credit card? I'm just trying to cover a one plant 2x2 closet. I already have a clw 220 in one closet, and it is doing ok, so I may just buy another one. Let me guess, your reply will be, "Go ahead if you just want to by crap." Thanks again for the helpful reply.

Apache tech or advanced led you can pay with credit card directly. Those are good choices. Another option would be to buy from growers house or ledgrowlightsdepot.com.

Both Area 51 and Optic uses Bridgelux Vero LEDs. Can't go wrong with either of those companies, pretty sure both will accept credit cards. Those are the only 2 that I will recommend, until Pacific Lighting has their light ready, then I'd recommend any of those 3.

Everything else is overpriced and/or behind in technology, and some are flat-out dangerous and built by a kid in his mom's basement.

it aint the credit card, I can use paypal or mail green cash, I just want to buy a light and not build it. I have a clw 220 and I really like the footprint.and the exceptional quality. Is there something wrong with that light? Can I do better?

As for the CLW, I can only go by what others have said about it, I've never owned one, and don't plan to. They run hot, and the LEDs they use aren't the newest or the best. They are better than a lot of lights, maybe even 75% of them. But you can do way better for less money.

Area 51 and Optics uses LEDs that are much newer, and way more output, and much cheaper.

You can get a Optics 200w that uses 2 Bridgelux Vero 29 v2s for $479.00

Or you can get 2 of the new Area 51 lights that connect together and uses (1 each, 2 total) Bridgelux Vero 29 v2s for $374

You'd need a bigger tent for this, but it's a good light, and well worth the price. It's $750.

Do not forget about 400W, 600W, and 1000W HPS lamps.

Those options are still on the table and are still very good choices. (high efficiency, low startup cost, straight forward, history of success)

no kidding, get yourself that good old 600w workhorse and you may have heat problems or electricity problems but there will never be any doubt that you have enough light to grow some top shelf pot.

Can do much better with either of those lights I recommended. My comment wasn't directed towards you it was the other guy who commented about the diy stuff.
