Any HLG Scorpion R-Spec grows and harvests?

In areas where electric costs are super high, I can see that. I still haven't seen the return on my $600 LED investment. In my situation, I only had the savings of the few hundred watts of extra electricity from the switch. I never ran A/C so I only saw a $12 monthly savings. My point is the new ones aren't any better than the old ones. I would love to see a side by side with original QB boards the V2 and the R-spec
you got it! I have a couple fixtures w a mix of some of those that are all in same tent that we can see side by sides of. one fixture is 4 qb288v1 boards. another is 3 qb288 v2, and another 3 board fixture w 2 of the v1s and an Rspec in the middle. all driven soft @ 50W per board. im also in process of making a Vesta tuneable fixture for a different tent.

I have definitely seen frostier plants under the Rspec board but have only run it 2x i think so far.

I am just in the process of rebuilding my setup and starting a fresh round. Will make sure to document w photos once I get it all back up and running over the next month or so.

That seems like more of a hodgepodge of lights than a side by side. In a month or so we won't remember this thread even existed lol.

Well considering they will all in be in same soil in sips, same environment, same size plants, and shit I could even run the same pheno in all of them just to get as close as possible, i think will be a pretty good comparison.

I meant more along the lines of it isn't really a comparison if you have a fixture with 1 R-spec and 2 V1's Since they are all HLG boards you would want to probably do it even wattage across everything and if you only have the 1 R-spec it wouldn't really be a productive use of time and resources.

Likewise. I have 6 QB288v1 boards on 2 Slate 3 heatsinks in a 4x4. Looking at the new/current LED offerings- with the newer Samsung diodes and red/deep-red spectrum supplementation - I wondered how much I was leaving on the table with regard to quality/yield. MyQB288v1 are still growing nice plants, so I'm questioning if upgrading to the newest generation would be worth it - I doubt it.

I'm considering adding a G8LED flower booster UFO to add in the red/deep-red supplementation that the newer RSpec versions incorporate. I already have a 2-bulb 54w 4' T5 fixture that runs Agromax Pure Bloom bulbs in flower and Agromax UV bulbs for the final 2-3 weeks. Other than that, I think I will just run these QB288v1s until the wheels fall off.

I wouldn't upgrade. I'm running 4 QB288 V1s and 4 QB288 V2's and the plants look identical. The only difference might be the V1's are 2700k and the V2's are the 3500k so they do have a bit more leaf on the 3500k side

That's awesome that you have both versions to compare! Appreciate the feedback/assessment. Saved me from unnecessarily spending coin chasing the latest/greatest. Thanks bud!
