Any hunters? Or gun enthusiasts? (Survivalists?) (Food preppers?)

I have several guns, from a cheap .22 revolver to an AK47. Anyone else do any black powder shooting? I've got a couple cap and ball revolvers and a hawken rifle, looking into getting a three band enfield.
Some years back I picked up a .58 black powder double rifle (percussion). Its a hoot to touch off (times two), but since its a double the long range accuracy is just not there, out to 75 yds is the danger zone with it.

:bump: and does anyone around here live in humboldt county know of any places to go shooting in the wilderness?
I don't line any where near Humbolt county, but we used to shoot off of bridges on back roads. There was a road that was supposedly the first paved road south of the Mason-Dixon line that had an old bridge on it. It was an old country rode that people would drive down and drink beer. Me and whoever was with me would walk down picking up beer bottles. When we got up enough, we would throw them in the creek and shoot them. Well, the area I live in is growing really fast. Lots of yuppies and "city folk". One day a friend and I were shooting. We had two AK semi auto knock offs that we were blasting away with. At the end we decided to load up out last four mags and just unload as fast as we could. About that time, some soccer mom in an SUV drove up and here we were standing on a bridge with two AK's with 30 round mags. The lady came to a screeching halt. We just tipped out hats and waved politely as she drove by. She had the most nervous look on her face.

Another time, we were shooting off a bridge on an old, gravel field road. We had an M4 and a Steyr AUG. We were just doing some target shooting but with a pretty high volume of fire. We left without any thing out of the ordinary happening. On the way out we passed a sheriff's deputy. Several days later in the local paper where the police reports are listed, there was a report of two heavily armed, unknown gun men firing weapons from a bridge.

Some of the most fun I've ever had has revolved around guns.

I love guns but I abhor violence toward other humans. Sometimes I have a hard time reconciling the two. But like I said, I will not be a victim without a fight.

I feel the same way. We found a place to shoot in a national forest around here. Gonna go camping there it's pretty sweet.

My arsenal:
Mossberg 500 12GA (everyone should own this weapon, it's cheap, nicely made and a great intro to shotguns)
Springfield XD .40 (great stopping power, good saftey features)
Hi-Point 4095 .40 (nice little cheap trunk gun)
Remington 880 Express 20GA (my bird bun)
Savage 200 .30-06 (big game)
Brown Bear Compound (1964, wood grain)
I hunt every season i can, deer, duck, pheasant, small game etc..
Last year i pulled a beautiful 10 point with my XD, he came up to a clearing and i didn't have enough time to grab the 12GA, i put one in his chest (found the bollet resting on his lung) and another through his spine......after another 5 minutes of twitching he finally died..i do not recommend taking a deer with anything smaller than a .40 as it can lead to the animal suffering.

I feel like I should show off my SBR. But nobody likes a show-off.

Once I get to take my suppressor home, I can show that off too.
