I agree with the 2 posters above, looks like you will be safe to wait for the magnifier/loupe. Not sure what lighting you are using but less intense light can extend flowering times by a few weeks.

Yeah dude, flowering is a MINIMUM 8 week thing (unless its an autoflower of course) so even if they are 5 weeks old that would mean they need 3 more weeks.

If they're only 3 weeks old, they need 5 more weeks. Trust me, they definitely need a few more weeks before you can start to even guess when she'll be ready. As for my suggestion, try using more light next time. If you flowered that thing under a 600 watt hps then all those branches and tops would be nothing but big huge colas. It looks like the one is filling out, but if you are flowering with CFLs you need like twice as many.

Also, I'm not sure if thats bag seed or what, but try placing a small order of some good seeds. If you order with attitude at the beginning of the month they always have great promos, I'm sure they'll have an awesome one for the new year.

Plus, with bag seed its really hard to get lucky and get that awesome pheno. Being a newbie grower, the #1 thing that helped me out the most was getting lucky with some AMAZING genetics. Maybe its beginners luck, lol. But seriously--if you want to grow some of the dankest weed that you have ever seen, then good genetics will help you more than anything.

I here you want to at least wait till 50% of the pistils turn withered. If you have a microscope you can check the tricomes.

wow , after years of growing , I must still have no idea what I am doing. Maybe I should just ask a newbee who has never grown what I should do.
