I think he's got connections. Looks like he's got himself a custom Cuban cigar roller to roll him some mini Castro Specials.

we call the egg nests cookoo spit, as they apear the same time as the cookoo birds return,
spittle bugs or frog hoppers come from the spit looking nests above , the original one looks like someone cut the tip off a pea pod lol. it looks more like a mini moth (it isnt i know, just sayin), but i think were looking at two differant species, i dont think the top one comes from the spittle stuff.
the OP's pic l;ooks more like a mothish looking thing, note the strait edges of the wings. the cookoo spit things are more like thrips
