I think he was mostly interested in the cleaning and anti microbial effects of chitosan. You use it in wine making to drop all the organics and sediment to the bottom of the containers. Makes it easier to clean and maintain a system.
The other positive effect are just bonuses when it comes to plants strengten immune system and richness. Cheers!
