anyone basically lollipoping every top to the first node? Any comments here or there about it would be appreciated!
You basically lollipop each top, and just leave the top node. Basically a super lollipop lol. I’ve also seen a cool video when they defoliate pretty much all the fan leaves called shwazzing I believe day 1 of flower and again 3 weeks after the flip.Im lost.
Not sure what you mean
What's the point of growing and training plants just to cut everything off but the top bud site? Unless you're trying to grow a large quantity of stem you're wasting your time. You basically lollipop each top, and just leave the top node. Basically a super lollipop lol. Made me hungry and chokey.I'll put it this way, those leaves are what that plant needs to breathe and eat.
It would be as if someone plugged one of your nostrils and sewed 3/4 of your mouth shut and said "there ya go, go eat and breathe", how easy would that be?
Hope my comparison isn't too loopy, pretty stoned
Yep, everything between the tops and the soil is basically wasted time vegging. What's the point of growing and training plants just to cut everything off but the top bud site? Unless you're trying to grow a large quantity of stem you're wasting your time.
You could also say that it would be like to trying to increase an engines performance by restricting its exhaust.Made me hungry and chokey.

Yeah I feel ya. My rooms pretty dialed in right now just trying new things. I have just stripped a few back to 3 tops, 2 tops, and single tops just to see what they do. I guess the only way to find out is to fuck some shit up!I would highly not recommend pulling every fan leaf from a plant.
All these new "methods" to magically yield more, most are wasted time and extra work.
If you want a high yield, provide solid lighting, a good environment with plenty of air flow, correct rh and temperatures, and keep the medium at the correct nute level in ocordance to what the plant is telling you.
sounds ridiculous I’d rather throw 500 on some beansThe guy who "developed" the "schwazz" says he's not trying to keep it to himself and wants to share it with anyone who's interested but then wants 500 dollars for a copy of his book and says that you get the best results using his exclusive line of fertilizers. The guy's full of it.
Yeah, for sure. Here's my my bottom line, pruning and training is essential but when you're stripping a ridiculous amount of growth it really just represents waisted veg time.sounds ridiculous I’d rather throw 500 on some beans
Veg time would relate more to the root mass, when you do something as intense as a one node flip or schwazz. You are going to apply inherent stress on the plant and remove its ability to transfer nutrients from fan leaves to feed its new growth. This is why you need to be feeding the plant adequate amounts through the process so as not to stunt the flowering cycle. All strains will react different obviously and could be more prone to hermaphrodite tendencies then others but stable strains with an adequate environment and feeding will respond positively. Remember you aren't harvesting and smoking leaves... pruning is a proven technique in all areas of horitculture and stoners denying this with no evidence is just being lazy as the research is available. May I suggest a 3-4 node flip. to begin and judge your strains ability to manage stress, also not everyone will have the ability to dial in a feeding schedule that could support optimal growth. Pruning works, test it, dense nugs... who wants to smoke fluff.
I know the post is old
I was thinking the same thing, the Veg time is more for the root system to establish. I'm considering trying this method as my sog has been met with too much branching and alot of Larfy buds even after a moderate defoliation.
