Any other things I should add to my kit?

Hello, this is my first post and Id like to say what a very informative and friendly forum so far.
I just purchased a kit from eBay,
It contains
Grow Tent 1x1x2
250w HPS & MH
Ballast
Reflector Cool Vent Shade
Ducting and Duct fan + Carbon Filter
Timer

I plan on harvesting 2-3 for my first time to keep things simple(accounting for males), my medium will be a good soil mixture(have been researching on here)
Is there any other extras I should add to this, to make things easier/better for my plants/me? Or am I right to attempt my first grow?

You should be all set. You may want to add a small fan just to circulate air in the tent. A small clip-on style should work great for you.
What strains are you starting off with? Good luck & welcome to RIU!

Well I have a great mix of seeds I was given by a friend who passed away so at this stage you cauld just say bag seeds. After I do my first grow I will be investing in some decent seeds. Also I have the ph strip testers and for the life of me unless it's a few numbers up or down I cannot read it accurately, would you recommend a digital ph tester? If I was to buy one i would buy a quality one. Or some other easier manual method of testing?
Thankyou :)

Also i would prefer to have my setup in the shed, which brings me to ask the question about bugs ect.
The shed isnt fully sealed and a fair bit dusty and grimy. If I give it a good clean out and give it all a blast with the pressure washer will it be suitable?
TIA

Cool! Those are indeed precious seeds. As for measuring ph, I simply don't have a good answer. I don't think there is an ideal solution. Testers that rely on color matching will only get you in the ballpark, IMO. Pens and digital testers I've never used. Maybe someone will offer a better answer.

The shed will be fine as long as you can control temps.

yes the shed will be fine give it a thourough clean and then spray it down with diluted bleachwater. you can cruise by my thread and check it out my old grow room had a gravel floor and all. the shed will definitely be fine.
