i prefer getting high and hate getting stoned only, so my top 4 faves so far are jack's cleaner 2, and stretchy sweet haze and haze x skunk, so far. JC2 is a 9 week strain. sativa trans-love isn't trippy like those, but it buds like a mofo for a strain that has a light euphoric clearheaded generic haze high with a haze type fruit flavor. sweet haze is way fruitier though and more like real haze than typical generics, though authentic is probably crazy trippy. DNA lemon skunk is a nice motivational euphoric strain that's not as stony as skunk #1 and tastes better. it's not trippy, but it is happy.
going more towards mids, CH9 jack is compact and looks like a straight up indica, but isn't skunky at all, has really nice euphoria and a mild body stone you can still function on. i didn't want to like it, but it impressed me. i bought another fem to test it better as it was overshadowed by sweet haze and jack's cleaner 2 which were trippier. JC2 has areally cool touchy feely effect too. i liked that. it has a mild stone so it's closer to a mid i guess, but a psychoactive one. 8 miles high isn't available until next year, but i loved that strains energy neutral euphoric buzz with a tiny bit of trippiness that offers precise body control. it's understated compared to trippier gear, but a perfect 24/7 chill or get busy buzz. sativa trans-love has an even more clearheaded generic haze type high, but for strains that have any kind of high, it's the fastest budding i've seen so far even leaving joey weed's 45-50 day C99 in the dust early on, though it takes longer to finish. sweet haze is stretchier, but better in every way smoke wise.
going to the stony side of strains DNA's sour cream has a euphoric lightly stony buzz like skunk #1, blueberry and masterkush, but it has a crazy delicious cream cheese with hints of fruit flavor that blows blueberry out of the water. all 3 DNA strains i've tried so far have been top quality for what they are. sour cream isn't a favorite as it's too stony for me, but in 25+ years of smoking indica dominants, it's more functional than most, more euphoric than beasters and easily a top 5 flavor.
instead of asking others what kind of buzz you should get, get a mix and decide yourself. the majority prefer mids, then more people lean towards highs and about 20% according to a running poll prefer a light stone like sour cream and so far no one is choosing :KO stone" gear, though some too like that, especially med users.
TGA's stony but laugh your ass off jillybean might be something you'd like too.
for REALLY trippy strains, mean named jack the ripper & killing fields are considered the best short of 12 week plus stretchy sativas and i'm eager to try sannie's jack f7 myself to see how it compares to my faves as he is many people's favorite breeder.
that's the great thing about growing your own! you don't have to grow anything but what YOU like best. dealers tend to grow just for a fast buck with less concern about the quality of the high. try getting high for yourself and see how it agrees with you. grow a few strains for variety and to compare against each other. you'll discover your own tastes. i USED TO hate all stone as i was spoiled by trippy columbian gold and NEVER saw anything even as "good" as skunk #1 wherever i went, but now, my favorite strain of all, jack's cleaner 2, has a noticeable body thump stone that doesn't knock you out with plenty of smiles, a warm and fuzzy body glow, the touchy feely effect that makes you want to play footsie with yourself as well as more visuals than you'd expect from a 9 week strain so i'm not as hybrid hating as i thought i was before trying gear i can't buy anywhere.
let us know what you grow and how you like it whatever you go with. i'm sure you can do better than what you're probably used to on the streets.
