I do not treat this as a clear indication unless you have a fair bit of experience with that exact strain in question. Is it taller because it's a male? Or is it taller because it's a "taller" phenotype.

every time i had a clear "dominate, tall" plant in the bunch.. it was a male... every single time.

take that how you want...lol

seeds ive ran the "stronger" looking of the bunch is always male. thicker stem, larger leaves. my males just seemed to grow faster too.

had a seed get stunted at about 6 inches for 2 weeks straight, thought it wasnt gonna live. fell far behind the rest of the seeds. which reached double its size.
but then it boomed. within a week or 2. it was the 2nd tallest plant.

but a male... bummer.

i have a taller critical overdrive than all the rest and it a female so it sometimes isnt always the case as ttt said could be a taller phenotype

well obviously its not ALWAYS the case.
some of my female clones end up taller than others. there are various reasons for that.

i popped 14 random bag seeds. kept the 7 best growing seedlings after a week. my favorite plant of those 7 was the best/fastest growing. it was the last to show preflowers after the switch but when those flowers were shown. there was no doubt he had to go. the rest were female.
