If you just want to do a small experimental grow for now keep goin with the flourescents on the sprout but u do want some starter soil to supplement a little what you lack in nutrients if u arent wanting to buy any yet . This will get it a coupleweeks until the plant will tell you it has used up all of its stored nutrients....with flouros keep them within 4 inches of the top of the plant so it wont do any stretching( always check for burns though because even tho flouros arent very hot, they put off enough to burn fragile sprout leaves. With that you want a fan to keep circulation to replenish oxygen that leaves hold around them like a little aura. With that you need some humidity( young sprouts love it) of at least 40 to 50(30s willworkif youcant afford a small humidifier. 15 bucks at dollar store. Just will have slow growth during veg.)do make sure, however, that they get 18 to 24 hours of light a day to stay vegging. But if you only want to see ur chances with one seed right now, just wait until its big enough ( after roughly a month or a bit more depending on your rate of growth) so that you can take clones from it and once the clones are rooted ( read threads on clones/cuttings) you can throw them to flower and with the first week to two weeks it will tell u if its male or female. Now with thatyou will have the possibility of being disappointed witha male plant but it will get you familiar with growing itself. Its a good little dry-run course to get your feet wet without committing too much .
