I came up with a new dehydration tek:
Take a metal mesh waste basket (about 5 gallon bucket sized), and add a hatch for the lid (using some hardware cloth and wire for twisty ties, etc), and maybe a few mesh panel sections to act as trays added vertically inside of it, to stack apart the fruits into multiple layers instead of one big clump..
Then use a big enough magnet on the bottom section of the basket to stick it to the door or back wall right inside in your clothes dryer. Center it in the middle so the paddle that flips the clothes around has clearance all the way around the basket when the drum is spinning, so it doesn't hit into it. Should just barely fit with some room.
Then, turn on the dryer to the highest settings and dehydrate HUGE loads all at once, like doing a load of clothes that just came out of the washing machine!
Most people don't even realize they have a 240v 30 amp dehydrator with a super powerful element in their house already!
