If so are you using an ebb N flow?
If so how did you handle the height issue?
My space is so whackie, that I'm not sure if I'll be able to pull it off without using a smaller plant count. Basically I need my tray to sit right on top of the res. I was going to customize this. But the only way I can think of doing it is to make the tray a permanant fixture atop of the res. The only problem with this is that it's going to be hard to clean the res and the bottom of the flood tray.
I've thought of making a water seal brim or ledge that would support a piece of plexi or acrylic cutting board type tray that you would fix on top of the brim or maybe lip would be a better way. This would make it a removal tray bottom that you could pull up and clean the res. But I don't see a way to make this thing water tight. You can perhaps put a neopryne seal on the bottom of the plastic and maybe attach it down to the lip with lock down screws. But I'm not convinced this will work either.
I really have my heart set on ebb n flow, but I'm beginning to think it might not be the best setup for my space. The traditional 2 foot incremented plastic tray sizes really are cramping me on this one.
My max flowering area is 30" X 75" X 72" (762mm X 1.9m X 1.8m)
My effective tray space options for the 4 phases of the sog:
a.) 18.75" X 30" (476mm X 762mm) X 4 trays. This is my desired option
b.) 30" X 37.5" (762 mm X 952 mm) X 2 trays.
c.) 15" X 37.5" (381 mm X 952 mm) x 4 trays.
anyone see any trays that could fit within this?
I'm looking to get 9 plants per phase using my 4.5 inch pots to a max of 15 or 16.
It might have to come down to making a mock up of 1 tray to see if it will work. I just don't want to waste time and money on this R&D if I don't have to. My second choice for this would be a drip system, but that seems like more of a fuss to clean and maintain.
Thanks for any insight on this delima.
