because we need a third remake of a movie about a tv series that hasn't been on the air for 30 years....
so these people, who are supposed to be "entertainers" can't think of anything original, they have to turn comic books into movies, and old tv series that no one has any desire to watch on tv....but for some reason idiots will go to a theatre to watch a movie about a tv series they won't watch at home.......¿

this is a page on IMDB listing planned remake movies for the next few years....this is just depressing.

Hollywood better be glad that their typical "customer" isn't more like me, or they would quickly find out that thinking people will not pay them to rehash old shit, and do it worse than the original.

That's why sales are dropping at the box office. It's the lack of producers/writers creating fresh quality content worth a persons price of entry. I am a huge fan of horror/scifi, instead of creating fresh experiences, Hollywood would rather butcher the classics with terrible remakes.

yeah hollywood kinda blows these days. Remakes everytime you turn around. I thought Ghost in the Shell live action was gonna be good, but the casted the wrong person for the lead in my thinking........Star War franchise is flooded, Jurassic Park blew chunks in my mind. Marvel is getting flooded too with a lot of they're stuff.....

i dunno, where are the orginal stories and story lines......smh

Last movie I was actually pumped to go see: The Martian.

Last movie I was actually pumped to go see before that: Saving Private Ryan.

So, yeah. Hollywood comes up with original ideas very seldom. And the crime of it all is that there are a great many books and short stories out there that would make great movies, but they don't want to:
  • pay for the rights from the author
  • pay for a GOOD writer to screen play the book/story
  • actually have to story board an original screen play
  • use talent and experience to direct the screen play and bring it to life
It's far cheaper to just use shit already done. That's what has made JJ Abrams entire career: take an already written story, change three parts of it to where it makes no fucking sense at all, and turn the screenplay over to CGI guys that have been on a three day bender.

I mean, what does it say to you that ALL, not SOME, but ALL of the top grossing films are fucking comic book movies?

I mean, Jesus Christ on a crutch! I love Iron Man as much as the next guy, but one was enough!

And yeah, dinosaurs are cool...but for fuck's sake, ENOUGH with the god damned Jurassic Park movies!
