anyone else think phx norml chapter is kinda lame?

I like the idea of trying to start a phx norml community garden and donating the produce to the needy.. see this way its possitive media coverage and more people would want to get involved work in the garden with their kids ect.. see many more people would see how us "pot heads" are still really good, normal family people who care a lot for peoples wellbeing not just our pot laws

I call B.S. the norml chapter in central oregon always helped me out after I got my OMMP Card . I met the nicest Lady who had M.S. and she even hooked me up with a COMPLETE setup from clones to buds. I am not a norml member, just out of the kindness of her heart. I dont know about this AZ chapter but maybe we need some new faces and join together to make it better instead of worse if we dont join together we're gonna be seperated and its gonna make it even easier for THEM to keep us down.

Once MMJ was passed the Norml group i was apart of az4norml pretty much feel apart. People went from trying to help others to trying to get into teh MMJ business and get rich. Bunch of Bullshit....we had a GREAT president Jon Gettel and he is leaving to open a dispensary in Cali...
When he left a few scammers tried to take over(edward levewitz and others..) and started selling bad clones and bad advise to people at the meetings.....selling mexican wed for 3 an 1/8 to sick people....
And since i was the only one that was trying to fight these people ooff to keep them out of the group(making TONS of enemies here in Tucson) i finally left and never went back..... i never got shit for free..only people trying to take more than they give.

I like you Phxfire.... but why you gotta ask essay questions

A group like Norml needs STRONG leadership..... 3-4 growers/established people that can facilitate getting meds to people at REASONABLE prices. They need to have weekly BBq's/lunches/or something FUN for people to do rather than sit around like a "bored" meeting(word play wut wut) bringing up motions and all that.

Now that MMJ is legal ot needs to be more about connecting and networking with other patients in order to create a STRONG core base of growers/caregivers/patients and allow those people to work amongst themselves to get medicated.
Political things SHOULD be a large part of it, but it should be a patients only "norml" type group so that people can bring herb and share and give people a reason to be excited to show up and be apart of something.

If i knew more people in Tucson id start a patients group liek that..but all you guys are up in phx><>><><><

Sounds to me like you need to move out of Dirty Bird Tucson and up to the "Oh So Classy Phoenix Metro Area"...fuck those Wildcats!

Secondly, i love the idea and your vision. IMO a big part of the NORML mission statement needs to be helping the rest of the world realize that a lot of people who use Marijuana for medicine OR for recreation are not criminal scumbags, but are more often than not good responsible members of society - who pay taxes, raise good families, hold down important productive careers, dontate to charity etc. More people need to "come out of the closet" and be honest about how and why we choose to use Marijuana.

I grew up in Philly LOVING Penn State...still do, very much so. I have been out here for the most part since 1995 and have adopted the Sun Devils as my homer team. I think of them much like I would a retarded younger brother...I love them, I root for them unconditionally and I wish them the very best - HOWEVER I never expect very much out of them.

Penn state has a lot of cleaning up to do. That school lobbied hard to keep everything quiet not just the boy rapes but everything and its a public college. They are fucked and Joe Pa is senile.

I agree with a lot of that - this whole mess has uncovered a disaster, but let's leave Joe Pa out of it - he is a good decent man, who has done much more good than harm in his lifetime. He needs to be judged on his full body of work - which is saintly.

All of the MMJ groups out here are quite bad. NORML was ok when Nancy ran it. Now this Rain lady is a horrible horrible representation for NORML. She was at a recent beer fest flaunting her MMJ card, smoking a joint right by some cops and blew the smoke right into the path of a family walking by. To me thats just BAD. Especially for someone in NORML.

Kathy is cool but RAIN pretty much seems to run everything. We all need to start going and vote that bitch out.
