i wanted to have two 6" duct fans from lowe's. the 6" is 250 cfm so two should be good for a 400 watt hps cooltube i would think ? two will be 500cfm. let me know if you tryed it thanks
Anyone ever try 6" or 4" duct fans from lowe's??

it will be less the a foot from the light to the fan to out my window so i think it should work no? pulling less then a foot from the light and pushing less then a foot before the light still to hot ya think?

I agree. Thats what im doing next. An inline fan and a carbon filter.

Are You exhausting outside with no filtration? Is this a stealth ? Not a good idea unless you are doing a med grow. read the tread - good answers. i like small and stealthy, and i use computer fans. how much air per minute - or day - do you need to move and filter.

I use a 6" 250cfm from home depot to vent my 400w air-cooled hood and it works great.

I use the 6" one, 250CFM is the CFM if it is used as a booster in a duct with the heater blower running, in free air / non-boosted setups its only 168cfm.
Saying that I use it only for my cool tube, I have a big fan for my room exhaust. My light intakes air from the garage, it's about 45*, goes threw the light and comes back out at about 80*, I can lay my hand on my tube anywhere except for directly under the arc tube and it isnt to hot to touch so I'd say it does a good job for that but I wouldnt use it as exhaust/intake for a room.
