That’s some potent stuff I’ve used it in the pastI'm about to start my outdoor grow soon and I'm thinking about trying kindsoil.
I'll be growing 6 plants each in a 15 gallon smart pot. 15 pounds of kindsoil in the bottom of each pot,
with foxfarm ocean forest as the top soil.
It’s a good super soil for those that don’t know how to build. Did you do it like they outlined on their site? I didn’t nor do I ever ph my water in soil especially the soil I build. I use nothing but well water at that.I used it for a total of 3 runs and it was bullsh*t. Complete waste of money. All the claims of "you only need to ph your water and itll take you through seed to flower" is a lie. By roughly week 7 your plant will show all sorts of deficiencies. Maybe i just got some bad batches, idk but i had better luck using fox farms nutrient line, and ocean forest soil. You MAY have some light burning early on but ffof will carry you to week 5 with only ph'd water easily depending on the strain.
Followed their guidelines to a T. Multiple times. It just didnt work out for me. If it works for others though, I wont knock it.It’s a good super soil for those that don’t know how to build. Because you ph’d your water that’s why. The acids in ph up and down kill the microbes in the soil I have no idea why they recommend it. If you try again don’t ph and I’ll guarantee it will give you great results.Followed their guidelines to a T. Multiple times. It just didnt work out for me. Eh. made the switch the hydro. Ive had better results than i did even when using proper soil. I only used organic ph + or - as it calls for nothing chemical to kill the microbial nutrients. Either way,dwc has given me results i never once saw in soil. Explosive growth once the root ball hits the water.Because you ph’d your water that’s why. technically you are right a very experienced grower that understands microbes and soil can ph their water but here is why most experienced organic or super soil growers say not to, for one the soil has created its own ph and when dumping ph water on your soil that doesn’t match your soils ph you will in fact kill off your microbes due to fast ph swings another reason is because when adding ph down to your water it is phosphoric acid that breaks down to become phosphorus and in a good soil you will have plenty of phosphorus and then your plant will start showing deficiencies that tend to look like low nitrogen then growers tend to start dumping nitrogen on their plant causing more issues and the list goes on. Most tap water is between 6.0-8.0 ph and that is absolutely fine for a good soil. So sure you can ph your water but there isn’t a point and it will end up causing problems that look like other problems.False.
You don't add PH up or down directly to the soil.
PHing water just gets the acid/alkaline level where you need it to be. Please explain how PH balanced water kills beneficials.
I’m just glad to know they don’t recommend ph’ing water.
Do you start from seed or clone? I’ve always had to start from seed to get great results I get ok results if I clone a plant that I’ve grown myself in my soil but if I get a clone from a dispensary or friend it seems to have a ton of issues when I Transplant into my soil. For years and years. I have never pH'ed any organic soil run.....
You simply don't need to.
I eventually met the KIND soil guy...Not a bad sort....Used a cpl of his personal tips.
In the beginning, he wanted you to do a layering thing and recommended Sunshine mix #4 as the inert layer. Worked but, needed a boost late and not happy with results.
Now he wants you to do the above.. I found that (free samples - again) worked a bit better and used several soils in testing it. FFOF, FFHF, Potters Gold, Black Gold and my home built basic 30 days soil..
All seemed pretty much the same in the end but some had def's in the long run. Bet you can guess the first...FFOF had Ca and Mg issues but they faded till late. HF did ok but needed some minor organic liquid supplementing just about 5-6 weeks in...
Potters was on par with the OF but had less issues with Ca/Mg......Needed some minor help late.
Black Gold did the best mineral wise, right along with my Home made. Each, as expected, needed a little help late.
You have to remember that I run long. Kind is set up for a short speed run..My interpretation of that soil.. Matching it to a great base is what I feel the key is here.
I happened upon another bag of it and tried some of my old favorite Dr Earth's Home Grown Premium Soil (Formerly known as POTting soil but relabeled) This stuff is formulated for organic cannabis growing.....Makes a real nice base!
This worked the best in my eye's with the Black Gold and my personal just behind it....
Trying one thing and walking away if it didn't work. Simply means you need to dial it in....
Run your hydro all you want.. I have to do far less work. I get better taste and smell. I find it far easier to micro manage somethings in soil over hydro.
Now Hydro works and if it works for you,,,,good for you. "I" simply feel that soil, specially an organic soil run. Provides the best quality and the closest to "potentials" you can get..
Thing is, there is plenty of test's that back that up...
Do what works for you, and grow happy!
It’s all good.My bad I just realized you were asking someone else, hence the copy/paste of their post.
