A supplemental light? Ive used them quite a bit for pepper seedlings before buying LED grow lights. I used one last year just as an extra light for buds too. I tested the 60watt i got last year. It does draw 60watts. They sure are cheap enough and i get a year or more from them...sofar.

5000k definitely good for early veg. Might be useful if your main light in bloom lacks blue spectrum to keep it tight during stretch. Definitely a hop and a jump above cfl

I over winter peppers occasionally if i cant easily replace one. I did a scotch bonnet last winter under one. It did fine. I mount a 120mm PC fan with a speed controller above it. Cools the light and gives the plant a breeze too.

I got another one on the way and gunna try mounting it to a panel for side lighting. Ive got nice ceramic ceiling type sockets i can wire up no problem.

Different brand because i dont feel like driving to Menards in this crappy weather. I will check to see what i draws when i get it.
