anyone grown with l.e.d?

so im doing a new quality bubbleponics grow and was looking to go cfl's but has anyone had any experience with l.e.d panels blue/red dual spectrum set ups?
ive got a little bit of money to spend on the set up and was wondering if its worth the extra investment.?

I use regular flourecents untill the plants can handle a 400 watt bulbs. I dont care for t5 lights. I get the same results with all the flourecents. so I only use flourecent and HPS ad my friend is the same way. He payed about 500 bucks for this LED light to try it out so he replaced his HPS with it and came back afew days later and the plants looked like they havent had light in days. He was able to save all his plants but I defenitly wont touch LED and ive even read some horor stories about them in hightimes. Some of them may b good or even better then HPS but I love my plants and I'm not gana gamble on it.

ive heard both good and bad things but all the grow journals ive viewde on here with l.e.d's seem awesome to b honest. i dunno i think its like any new thing really can be good, can be bad, some ppl are magicians with it but it just wont work for sone as well

I cant recall where I've said this before but, Led's work alright for Veg and horribly for flower. you mean to tell me your friend traded an hps for an led panel?

maybe using an led panel with some fluorescents would be an

I heard L.E.D is good for veg, use a HPS for flower though.

Okay LEDS are bloody amazing if not the best growing way other than plasma bulbs. then i also really like induction bulbs as well. i would say ranking order for bulbs would be this
1)plasma
2)led
3)induction
4)HPS/HID
5)T5s
6)cfls

I say LEDs are amazing but man they cost alot for a good one. i mean you can either make it yourself (alot cheaper) but you need to be good at it and know what u are doing. or you drop more than $1,000 on a proper LED panel. Plasma bulbs are and i mean is the closest bulb to matching the sun. Induction bulbs are bloody amazing as well. LEDs are amazing if you have the money to drop on it. if not stick with HPS/HID and T5s

I would ask some people that know what a quality LED is and have actually grown start to finish with one and from what I can see the only dude that has on here so far has shown us a big ole cola. You gotta know who to talk to with questions like this because there is a bad habit of just repeating what the last guy said to sound smart and get the post count up on here. The proper LED grows killer bud. I have seen it. Anyone that knows the relationship between color temp and photosynthesis will agree. The major hurdle right now is that any worthy LED panel is gonna cost you about what my whole set up cost me and until they get affordable LED will never get the respect it deserves.

The light used is on sale for 899 at HidHut. There are other good lights out there cheaper, though...like the small version of the Lumigrow, etc.

im looking at the supernova enhanced spectrum ufo l.e.d from hi-d hut, seen a couple of grows with this monster and it seems perfect for me even though it is a large investment im more than willing to lay down the cash for the best gear.
anyone used the optional satellite attatchment? what globes would you put in there and when? is it really necessary?

the only one i have seen that I would consider using is about $2700

There are less expensive, high quality ones out there. There's a Lumigrow for $565. There are several with good craftsmanship and warranties. The new Cree 3w bulbs are getting a lot of attention. Just look around. They're great for small spaces, and they avoid the expense of heating problems. Plus the low electricty doesn't make your bill look suddenly suspicious. You don't have to spend a ton of money, unless you just want to.

Yes to get the good LED lights its expensive but lets make another comparison, light life.

LED life is approx 50k hrs or 2083 days or 5.7 years, and that's on a 24/0 clock. Now if using for just flowering with a typical 12/12 cycle then it is over 11 years! Not to mention the electrical savings, that alone is thousands a month on a large grow op such as I am making.

I have been looking at this and we will be experimenting later on with the LED lights, probably in about 6 to 8 months. Keep an eye on my journal

so if you had to list your own personal choices regardless of price what would they be? a square shaped light does seem to make more sense with my setup...

I'm partial to rectangular or square lights, but I don't know that it matters. Some leds are project narrowly, but wider beam angles are hitting the mkt. That makes the big difference. I keep looking at the small Lumigrow ($565) I like the idea of being able to dial-in the light spectrum.

I just saw this link regarding building your own.

im thinking about the lumigrow, probably the larger one though, i dont mind droppin a g if it gets the results and by the time it comes to replace it we'lol probablr be talking about isint one plasma globe for the whole grow computer comtrolled and shit, basically by the time this thing dies weed growing will truly be a completely automated set and forget process i thinnk wide angle led's? got any links?

I myself really like the OP's light since it says that the individual panels are slightly tilted for better light coverage. The only other ones I found just doing a quick search were rectangular and were more expensive with otherwise having the same options.

I did do a quick search on the Plasma lights also but only found 1 distributor and that was on eBay and it was over 2k I believe and the bulb life is shorter, about 30k hours vs 50k for the leds. Also with just a little practice soldering you can replace the individual leds when they burn out, the plasma light has to be sent back to the factory and this can only be done 3 times before you have to replace the whole unit.

Just imagine though within another 5 years LED panels should drop in price by quite a bit making them much more viable for larger grows.
