I was lucky. I purchased a TS 600 off eBay..it was marketed as 99w, but the model I had was rated at 85w both in the manual (which had 99w crossed out with a biro pen no kidding, and had 85w scribbled beside it) and on the sticker, which had the same hand writing. I sent them an email thinking I had received a fake as the LED count was 225 vs 240 as well, and they stated that the EU model had 85w, and the US/au model has 99w. They are unsure how the 85w EU model ended up with an au power plug, so they sent me a 99w TS 600 at no extra cost, but didn't explain why the LED count was different and there was no IR even though there was on the slide.
As soon as I showed them the marketing flyer at 100w, and the manual and sticker at 85w they were very apologetic.
Apparently I'm not the only one that has received 85w, IR devoid TS models marketed as 100w, and they also changed the SP150 from 150w to 135w, didn't update the marketing and had a lot of complaints. I don't know why shorting 15w from their leds was considered an update, as many received a reply stating "they received a newer, updated model". I have heard rumours that traces were burning out on the TS 600 and SP 150 models and they decreased the current on the sly instead of recalling the product and beefing up the PCB ...the TS 600 also had and was marketed with IR, but that disappeared without mention as well at some stage, so it seems like they do have issues with quality control and communication.
That said, the prices were good, and they performed very well...I've seen a lot of happy customers as well, and would consider a TSL 2000 for my tent instead of running two separate boards simply because they sent me a free light when I called them out.
Another thing that redeemed some trust with me was how honest they were with their comparison claims...many 100w quantum boards marketed as TS 600 competitors are claiming to be a replacement for a 250w or 400w HPS, where the mars rep I spoke to said it would be a replacement for a 150w sodium, but with a better spectrum for full growth cycle. On top of that I got to keep the original 85 W TS 600 as returning it was never mentioned.
