Anyone have experience with Girl Scout Cookies?

I had the good fortune of finding some Girl Scout Cookie clones over the weekend (or at least the dispensary says they're GSC). Since my last grow (also my first grow) was started from bag seed, I had no idea what to expect, but this time I'm hoping someone more experienced than myself can shed some light on the characteristics of this strain.

The clones are a little leggy, but the dispensary had them under standard T8 lights at a distance of more than 12 inches, so I would expect them to be leggy. I transplanted them into more appropriately sized pots with some high-nitrogen fertilizer, and they immediately thanked me with some lush vegetative growth. My concern is that even under T5-HO lights at close range, they don't appear to be growing outward as much as upward. I was under the impression that GSC was a Indica/Sativa hybrid with mostly Indica phenotype, but I'm beginning to think that the clones may be Sativa-dominant knockoffs. Can anyone who has grown this strain tell me what to expect as far as growth characteristics? Thanks,

I grew a couple SCM cut GSC's. one in ground and another in a pot ; both outdoors from clones. It took the clones over 2wks to really start veging good, after that they took off. I didn't top or train at all. This strain is very unique, never seen a cannabis plant like this before. The branching was kinda wild, lots of side branching. The lower branches caught up to the the top branches. The plant itself was very vigorous and healthy, was not finicky about nutes. Actually had no problems with them, they were very pest and mold resisitent. Also for some reason it had no budworms at all, my other plants did, but not bad. The buds are somewhat small but they are some of the densest buds I've ever seen. The plant turned purple late into flowering. After drying and just a very short cure there wasn't much smell to it. The buds dried very sticky. I love the high, it's very strong and lasts along time, I think this will be my go to smoke right now. I know there are lots of fakes out there and several different cuts also. Look through some different forums and threads and you should be able to find some good pics. Good luck.

Thanks BWG! That's great information. These clones were already fairly developed, so maybe I was lucky enough to skip the slow first two weeks. In fact I can already sex two of the four plants. They are loving the better lighting and have now started spreading outward. Within 24 hours, I can see obvious growth, so I think veg will be pretty quick. The positive traits that you mentioned are exactly what I've been reading in the strain descriptions, but it's good to hear from someone who's already grown them who isn't trying to sell me something. Did you end up with many popcorn buds along the stems, or were the buds more concentrated toward the top? Anyone else tried this strain indoors?

All the buds were on the smaller side, but not that small. I ended up with a minimal amount of popcorn, most of the buds filled out. GSC is known for smaller buds and smaller yields, but my inground plant that I started in mid June; it started flowering in mid Aug., yielded 13oz of very nice bud. It's been curing a while longer now and getting better and better, buds are very sticky. My friend grows the same clone indoors. The buds are very similar but much smaller yields. Other than that I really can't help you out on growing them indoors. You will more than likely be very satisfied with the end product.

Gsc is an easy one. Lanky upright growth habit. Keep pH on point and 9-10wk flowering and your gold. Good smoke, a little over hyped. Bwg is correct on the yield dept. She can do vert well, just a whole lot of veg time. Pinch her tops aggressively from early veg, many tops is what you will want, also need to mention her dislike for intense lighting. She get ugly if too close.

Peace

I have a mother growing now. The veg cycle does take a while to shift into gear but once it begins to stretch up it will soon stretch out too. I topped mine and noticed lower growth catching up to top growth under scrog conditions. I flowered some last run and I got dense but smaller buds that do actually smell and taste of chocolate and mint on top of a normal kush nose aroma. My lady exhibits mostly indica traits and also started to purple a bit at the end of flowering. I would recommend an extended veg cycle to include topping the plant a few weeks before starting a 12/12 and letting the flower cycle go as long as you can stand to wait (My well matured buds are heavy hitters when sucked through a bong tube). It really is a peculiar strain, doesn't fuss much in good soil, takes a while to find direction, doesn't demand much attention in flowering, finishes late and modest and then exceeds your expectations when you finally smoke some. Makes me awkwardly stoned in public.

Also, it's worth noting that this particular strain gives me trouble when cloning.
(I use a Turbokloner aero setup and have no trouble rooting my other cuts)

Just finished up 5 fem seeds all turned out great. Going to re-veg best one and clone not sure about yield seemed pretty good just need to start more babies I guess. Quality was so worth it.

Im seeing that on a cookie wreck right now. My normal distance from my 400 watt hps is about 12in, this plant[gsc dom] seems to be hating the light so I backed it off to 14. The Budsites are ok ad leaf damage is minimal at day 30 flower, think I will make it.
