I must say form what I saw when I was there to what I have heard from others this place is nothing like Dr.P. I know of a few people that were turned away by 11th state. However, I know more who have had great dealings with them. 11th state consult has also shined light on a few problems with some of the procedures over at the DOH that will now need to be addressed . With all that said I could not have been more wrong about them they turned out to be a good addition to our community.
I didn't learn about Dr. P until just a few weeks ago - however I too was very skeptical of 11th state at first. I have a qualifying condition, and not to dismiss anyone with an ailment of anykind (I'm not like that) but I have an actual condition which is recognized by the program and I have years of pharmacy, neurologist and PCP records to back it up. I didn't want to talk to my doctors about mmj. One, because I'm under 30 and I'm not looking to be strerotyped. Two, this program is still in the shadows for the most part. I read about 11th state before I found RIU/other forums and my first thought was that it was going to be a set up or something. And I'm usually not that cynical of a thinker!
I spoke in depth with HghFly, and then with 11th St through email before I made my appt. Then when I actually went there, I was so surprised. The office was nice, the people were nice. There were even a couple folks there in there 70's looking for the same thing as me. (Relief, without being sterotyped by their doctors.)
Not sure if anyone else did research about the people at 11th St. after their visit but the RN has history teaching and running a walk-in/PCP office. GREAT people, the type you'd invite to your backyard cookout.
My advice. If you NEED this service, use it. But please don't reccomend it to people who DON'T need it. I'd hate to see 11th St. put in the position to make judgement calls everday and eventually not be able to do what they do.
Bud
does anybody know of it takes the 6-8 week timeline to add a caregiver?
I would imagine. The paperwork still needs to get processed by the DOH, then registration fee deposited to the state acct, and then whatever follow up they do afterwards (like sending you the letter in the mail, etc). Personally I still haven't received my actual letter in the mail nor gone to get my actual card - but it's been close to the 6 weeks estimated time that folks have said they are delayed up to but my check got cashed a few weeks ago and they added a small numerical code to the top of it (I saw it on my online banking). I imagine this is my actual registration #?
So from my analytics it seems they have a system at the DOH. Someone sits at the mail box with the obnoxiously long adress that we all had to write on our envelopes. They get all the registrations in and open them and hand them to someone else who verifies all the info on them on. Then they write your mmj registration # on your form and your bank check and hand it over to the secretary who deposits it. Meanwhile, the form (practitioners form) goes to someone else to construct the letters, etc, and mail them out and then it all gets digitally entered and filed. Assuming they only throw like 4 or 5 people on the job I can definently see it taking a long time with 1200+ applicants, renewals, etc and growing.
